Son has been a complete waste of space yet gets a full 90 mins. We NEED Janssen to get some confidence back yet he doesn't get a minute.

Not the best we've played, but Fulham made it so that we didn't have to play well to get a good result.

Better than the Gent game, but probably weaker opposition, so I'm not sure that we can draw too many comparisons.

A win is a win, though; and the score-line will force the TalkSport wumsters (particularly that Spurs-hating twat, Jason Cundy) to eat their words.

 

I'm not knocking a 3-0 away win in a cup tie, but we could've had loads today.
Caused them so many problems.

 

The gulf in class collectively showed over the 90 for once, well done.

The devil in the detail still needs work though.

Completely outclassed a very decent Fulham side today, which is not to be sniffed at.
We've seen a lot of sides flounder against weaker opposition in this competition this season.

Now how does Pochettino take this into the Gent 2nd leg?
We need to be far better for it than we were in Belgium.
Wembley's not been good to us so far and we really need to change that.

 

That's always going to be the case. Nothing wrong with being encouraged by the team addressing some of the problems we had last game.

Good win and great to have Jan back, I think we were perhaps not giving him the credit he deserved before his injury.

 

So long as if we're drawn away they don't timewarp us back to the 70s Den, we could be ok.

 

When he and Toby are in the team together we are so much more assured. Tremendous players, both of them.

 

Sutton or the Goons at the Lane would suit me. Be nice to put the final nail in the coffin of Wenger's likely final season.

 

I think that we lose balance when Vertonghen's out, as Dier's not a suitable replacement for him.
Wimmer does that job better, for me, though he's not had a good season when he's been called on.

 

Go 3 at the back, we're much better on big pitches in that formation. I'd rest Kane and start Son upfront just because we need to work out what the **** we're going to do if Kane can't start. If we can't beat Gent by 2 without Kane then we aren't capable of competing across 3 competitions anyway.

 

Surely that would be the PL NLD at WHL, with a non-win for them meaning
they don't even get their precious St Totteringhams day cup.

 

Even if the Ramones made some good 2 minute wonders they never had the dash, swagger. danger of Strummer and Co . Their look was more 1969 .

Most definately felt calmer at the back, a bit rusty and clumsy with certain individuals, but that's probably to do with game time. However the authority of Jan at the back is priceless and blatantly evident.
