West Brom have massively lost out, Could have sold him couple of years ago for £20-25mil. Instead they've had him sat there doing **** all costing them wages. Stoke now have a player who is only going there to get away from West Brom and is a fat unfit bastard cause he's barely played for about a year and a half. Its a bad transfer saga for all involved, but at least West Brom will console themselves that they did at least get some money for him.
Get him fit though and Stoke could have a £25m player on their hands to make profit on in year or two. Has undoubted quality.
What do you all think about it being official Gerrard back as a coach? A big deal in the back rooms or nothing? Surely a few kids will be convinced to come to LFC to work under Gerrard. First step on the road to management one day?
There is a thread for this. Christ, I waste my time sometimes. From now on I am only putting up new threads when pissed, so god help you all as they will be odd to say the least.
Yeah but those batard mods merge everything. It'll be merged in here eventually and then I'll look prescient.
What the hell are you talking about man ?! It's only bad for West Brom who messed up with him and have made a fraction of what they could have on a very young player full of quality who has openly stated he wanted to leave them for about 2 seasons now. Everything else you said is junk. Stoke now get a nice option up front in an evolving team that is showing real signs of progression. Will be interesting to see how he fits in with Arnautovic, Shaqiri, Bony, Allen even. I like the direction Stoke are going in. To call him a 'fat unfit bastard' is ridiculous, he's slightly less than match fit, he'll need a few hundred minutes of solid game time to get up to speed which he will get quickly at Stoke as he will be playing for them a lot. Do you think he's just been sat on his arse all this time skipping the gym and doing zero cardio, playing no football at all ?? Of course not, he'll still be in physically peak shape but won't be 'match sharp' i.e. reactions, positioning that kind of thing because that's something you can't truly replicate without playing real matches. The way you simplify it is pretty retarded lad. This is basically a sideways move looking at the table. He should have been starting all the time for WBA, their main forward, but because the relationship with the club was bad he wasn't playing at all. At Stoke he has a fresh start, good feelings between club and player so he will play and he will do well. It's a good move for the player. It's only Stoke you might say, but at a big club he wouldn't get the same game time and would spend a lot of time on the bench. At Stoke he can get a couple solid seasons of football under his belt, score some goals, get back on the radar and in the media as a new starlet playing quality football rather as that guy with a problem with his club and in a few seasons look at moving somewhere that's higher up the table.
Pullis loves a big man up top. Rondon and Robson-Kanu are preferred and he was constantly shoved out on the wing because he didn't suit Pullis long ball up to the big man approach, this after being top scorer from them as a central striker. Can an understand why he's get frustrated, especially after then being refused a move to Spurs which is a big jump in quality to play in Europe and help him get up England team. Probably hasnt gone about it best way saying never playfor club again, badly advised as a young player but players have said and done worse.
Was going to put him in my FF side since he's only £6m and the only competition he's got there atm is Crouch. However, he didn't sign in time to be available this weekend! Same with Fonte
Well look at Payet, a much older player who used exactly the same line. Did Berahino even say that ?? Can't remember mate This situation has mostly Pulis' neanderthal attitude all over it rather than player arrogance. Berahino hasn't really done anything that suggests he's a dick to me, or anything wrong. Especially since like you say he wasn't being deployed properly. So he wants to move, players want to move, every season, get over it and resolve it, that's what a good manager would do. Pulis seems like a total knobhead and exactly the sort of guy who would take it personally, act all unprofessional and block/get in the way of the move even though it was patently clear it was the best thing for all involved. And the owners are happy to have him as manager so that speaks volumes about the kind of people they are.
Yeah berahino said he wouldn't play for wba while pierce is chairman at wba after he refused to sell him. Wouldnt say say he hasn't done anything wrong. Bit of a dick to say that more so a kick in teeth for and that support him and the club but things like that can quickly be resolved with a private talking to. Look at costa, thrown toys out twice now but bit of good management and he'll be playing for Chelsea again in a week or two if not this week and all will be forgotten.
Yeah, got to be all Pulis fault, no other manager/club ever blocked a player from moving on when he wanted to (what would they have been smoking). It's obvious Berahino has been a model professional and done his very best for the club whilst hoping for a move but Pulis has been a right twat (can't remember where I read any of that last bit but it must be true). You should break this story to the news, everyone should know how professional Berahino has been.
Where do you get twice from, are you talking about his back injury last week? Selective belief of reporters is very poor, do you believe everything written about your club or just the good bits
