United scraping their tie with a draw. Why would any sane person have expected anything different? It has been the story of the ****ing season. Deserved to go through or to win a match but not killing it off by missing chances or by retreating into defence. This tie should have been done in the first leg but at 1-0 the Spanish had nothing to lose but attack.we should have pressed our advantage rather than defend a goal lead. I honestly cannot believe JM and United 's luck in the last few seconds of the match. It would have been humiliation for JM and he would have had himself to blame. As usual, Rashford posed the threat. With Herrera and Pogba our midfield looks good. We have Blind as our only experienced CB. Smalling and Jones are coming back but have mistakes in them. We seem to shooting ourselves in the foot all the time: what was Bailly thinking of? Same as ****ing Fellaini in the league. Will Valencia be suspended too? The pressure will be greater on United in the final. It will mean more than just a cup while Ajax are already in CL next season. 50-50 for me. And can JM now please give the league teams the freedom to play an attacking game. FFS there is now nothing to lose. We can't go lower than 6th and we could benefit from others stumbling. Win-win.
I'd love to go, it would mean I have the full set. Still considering it but I'd have to go on a planned trip, which would run in to 1000's. Wouldn't be able to sort independently now. You'd need to take the punt early and get the flights sorted when the semi draw was made.
Would have been three out of the four cup finals in 12 months, leaving only the big one for us to go to together. Really quite pissed off.
Surely you can just be a bit creative with the flights - go via Riga or Helsinki or somewhere out of the way. Probably still a fair bit of whack, and a long time to wait at change, but less than trying to get a direct / routed one now. Then just bring a tent and you're sorted
Went to Stockholm in 98, great fun. Good luck in final, hope you get more than 33 pc possession. Have you got any Jose songs yet?
How the mighty have fallen, the biggest club in the U.K., have just scrapped into the final, I will be cheering them on, but this competition is only usually taken seriously by the lesser clubs, ( the mid table clubs) but now it's massive, due to champs league qualification, paper over a bad season for man utd
Good luck in the final guys. Incidentally, if you win, you will become only the fifth club in history to have won all 3 major UEFA European Trophies, alongside Juventus, Ajax, Bayern and Chelsea. Not a bad little record.
Compared with last season's winners, Sevilla, neither of this season's EL finalists are in the same class. Pity Sevilla didn't try to drop out of the CL this season as they would have walked this competition yet again.
Was thinking full European set; Champions League, CWC and UEFA Cup. I can't see us pursuing this again in a hurry. I'm going the Palace game with my eldest, it's tempting to go awol for the week and finding myself on a ferry to Sweden from Aberdeen or somewhere.
The only reason Sevilla walked the competition last season was that the RS managed as usual to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory And kloppyflop cannot win a final if his life depended on it. United are reluctant participants sure, doing only so because of CL qualification. Ajax are a good young dynamic team. Could be a very good final. I am sure United will get the support of all English fans and media as the only English club in the later stages of European competitions
