Monday night football. I hate playing last in a game week, you just watch all your rivals win and need a win yourself just to keep up.
If we can't beat a team with players already packing their swimming trunks and flip flops for the Caribbean beaches, then we're even more rank than we think. At least Watford will want to win in front of their fans and may play a more open game. Mind you, these days any manager with big enough balls to attack us on the counter will get joy.
This one is now absolute must win and 8 days to prepare. Need to get a couple players back in training i reckon. but in the end.... all we can do is wait for this thursday and HOPE we are still in 4th monday evening.
We need about 4-5 first team players in the summer. We'll probably end up with about 2. It's time for the dead wood in the team to prove themselves in the next few weeks or get rid.
when i looked at fixtures I thought we will lose to west brom but palace will be safe and we will win at home. the net result here is that we have same amount of points i expected but the main angst is utd have been on a run thats scared the pants of lads. My expectations for this game are: a) At best LFC will be in 5th place on monday evening following a city v utd draw and both teams winning v relegation scrappers on sunday. thats at best us being 1 point behind utd and 2 behind city. If a relegation scrapper gets a draw great but both man sides should be red hot favorites b) ALL the pressure is on LFC in this situation. we play last and are staring down the barrell of being out of it if we lose. c) Watford have no skin in the game. all they are playing for is top half and a slightly higher league position. d) Watford have a few injuries but not too much while we have the usual. e) I expect to see little to no penetration from LFC and it will come down to one or two chances. The issue with this is LFC don't play like they have no penetration so are very open on the counter and so... we may only get the one chance to score f) LFC cannot defend set pieces so... again.. always open to conceding. Really the giant hopes for any LFC fan looking for something is watford have nothing to play for and we have coutinho.
Being serious and dropping the "doomed schtick". As I've been saying for several weeks, I really don't expect us to finish top 4 anymore. We've shown consistently we do badly when: A) We don't have Mane. B) We play against bottom half teams. C) We play games that are close together. Well ... That's our end season. This is the time of year when most big teams "get it together". I'm not expecting our rivals to drop many points, but we will. People were getting optimistic after a couple of ugly wins... But as I was saying then:. Yeah, it's great to win games when you play badly... But keep playing badly and you will eventually lose. It's Europa for us next year. Which, is a step up from this year. If we do well in the transfer window over summer, Champions League is possible the following year.
Really need a draw for united and city. Even though will give both a chance to overtake us, it means that they're both still within 1 win of overtaking. With uniteds fixtures they are probably going to drop more points so it's still probably in our own hands. Have to be unlucky for them to draw then both win all their remaining games! need to keep an eye on Arsenal. They can go level with us with 3 wins on their games in hand. Given them a glimmer of getting back into this race for 4th
Again, i think whilst a lot of people (not necessarily yourselves) see this as an easy game, I think you are going to drop points. At the very least it will be a tough game. Watford are a bit inconsistent and go through either runs of form of being dire or pretty good. They're going through a bit of a hot spell at home and are the prototype team you hate especially at home. Compact and physical with a couple of big units up front. In Niang they have someone who has a bit of X factor and you can never discount Deeney from working hard. If you come out of this with full points you will have done very well
