That he did, but to be fair he got his head down and ended up with a better move to manure rather than spuds. A fine example to VW.

Us and you are basically the same. We had crazy big squads in the championship and we both should have run away with the league. The advantage you have is until now a lot of your better players were older so didn't want to look for a move ( yes you are also a bigger club). Were as we had a young very ambitious team. So they all had a chance to move on to the much bigger teams. Add that to a chairman like Cortese who just splashed cash without caring about the off field stuff it was bound to catch up with us in the end.

I have been saying since Wanyama joined us expect **** in the papers. His agent is a total twat and makes many money grabbing agents look good.

Wanyama will move on but unless a stupid big bid comes in it won't be this season.

" those miserable twats" That's probably more accurate.

You are a very kind and patient person but don't worry I'm fine.

I find moaning about things I have no control over, at total strangers that don't know me, that I'll likely never meet, a very cathartic exercise.

So that's why I find it wrong that you call Vic what you did today. If he goes, then fine, but surely wait and see first.

My concern is effectively the same one I've had since Cortese departed: that we're being prepped as an asset (ie., paying off the debt to the Liebherr family and possibly building a cash balance beyond that) for sale in a couple years, with all the uncertainty and instability inherent in that process. Now, with the skyrocketing team values we're much more likely to attract sensible sorts than would have been the case a few years ago, but running the team to fluff up the financials for another 18-24 months and then hitting the new owner roulette wheel is still fraught with pitfalls.

Consequently, my interest in our financial doings is, effectively, looking for signs that if I am wrong. If this is simply a temporary effort to eliminate that debt and then spend to our level thereafter, I'm fine with that (though I would question the timing from a tactical standpoint). But so far, everything about the past year and change looks to me like we're going to be on the market sooner rather than later, assuming that nothing cataclysmic happens in terms of our PL status.

Wouldn't you be happier just watching the football? You can't do anything about that either, but it has to be more entertaining than following the finances.

You may be right, but that doesn't really justify some reactions after three league games with two poor performance and one shocking cup performance. Not for me anyway.

Agreed. This is what I mean when I refer to supporters. This is the first minor hiccough in... what 5 seasons.? And people have their heads in their hands as if a tragedy has occurred. I thought being a supporter was taking the rough with the smooth.? This isn't even the rough. It's a tiny pimple.

And I thought I was the impatient type. <whistle>

Honestly, I'm not cut out for that, with Saints or anything else. "Relax; what will be will be" just isn't how I'm wired. For good and bad, I have to fix the things I can and try to understand the cause-and-effect of the things I can't. Useful, but leads to some pretty boring subjects of interest, and it doesn't always mesh well with sports, heh.

Ronald has chosen not to select Victor in today's side.

Wanyama's agent (Rob Moore) is stirring the pot again. As I've said previously, last summer there was a concerted effort from Wanyama/Moore to get him a move.

It didn't materialise, but during that period he was benched by Koeman.

Remember Swansea away when Victor only came on because JWP got injured? It was then. Victor came on, scored, didn't celebrate and just stared at Koeman.

So that's where we're at right now. But, the club have told Victor he is not permitted to leave Saints this season.

Hope we don't give in. If he was sick, I apologise to Victor, but if he wasn't he is a disgrace as he let down not only the club and fans, but his team mates in one of the biggest games of their lives. The latter would have been unforgivable.

He was in hospital last week to see a stomach specialist after referral from the club.

I don't believe Victor has refused to play at any point. I do, however, believe his agent is trying to manufacture a transfer.

Then I apologise to Victor, but he really needs to control his rabid agent....though he is very close to him I believe.

I don't want to sound patronising, and it does sound rather stereotypical, but a lot of African footballers feel very indebted to their agents.

The sort of agents that pick African lads up, move them to Europe and help cover costs early in their career and then really milk every last drop if they make it to the big time. It's actually quite sad.

Sky says he hasn't recovered from the stomach bug, I reckon he is in quarantine in an isolation unit to keep predators away.
