Certainly give the North East in general a stronger outlook if the football can be decimated by the south <doh>

Can someone explain to me why in general Sunderland supporters look forward to playing against Newcastle, not only for a six point boost to their tally but the joy of a local derby game , whereas the Newcastle supporters have an ingrained fear of meeting Sunderland, always hoping the other Premier league teams can prevent it for them, is it possible this fear has in the past few seasons rubbed off onto the players so they are in fact beaten before the game starts, OK Sunderland it is acknowledged have a superior record in the premier league of English football, but they are by no means unbeatable

You once again misread the feelings of the Newcastle fans. Many on here have stated that they would prefer Sunderland to stay up unless of course we don't get promoted. Its just we enjoy the agony the Sunderland fans are going through at the moment.

Assuming we can achieve promotion then the ideal scenario for us would be Sunderland being in 18th place only 2 points behind 17th (Crystal Palace) come the last game of the season, then going 1-0 up against Chelsea away while Crystal Palace are losing 1-0 at Man United. Then Chelsea score 4 in injury time while Man Utd score two own goals gifting Palace the win. But then in final minute of the 10minutes of injury time at United, Crystal Palace go into administration, are deducted 10points and relegated, so that Sunderland stay up.

As has been proved this season
Every small club likes to play Newcastle, to them it's their World Cup, Champions League, FA cup final all rolled into one

You guessed it - waiting on an oil price rise. Did realise I sounded like I was obsessed with Sunderland when I posted it. Just to prove it - BBC have an article on club badges reimagined and someone posted this for Sunderland

I wont ask you to state the many that have stated they want Sunderland to stay up but how about a couple , against the ones that are expressing their terror that Sunderland are still in the Premier league next season waiting to create that ten games without defeat record against Newcastle , a scenario based on recent results that is far more likely than the ambiguous one that you have created

For someone who is constantly banging on about history, you clearly don't appear to know much about it - the 10 game record you quote is simply hypothetical - unlike the spells between 1967 & 1969 and 2000 & 2009 when we actually went 9 games unbeaten (or without defeat if you prefer) on both occasions.

Let's see where we both are next season to find out when and if your attempts to equal that actual statistic will take place

Agent Moyes continues to keep us glowing warmly...

    MOYES: TRANSFER FUNDS ARE LIMITED

David Moyes admits he is unlikely to bring in any players this month who will make a notable difference to his Sunderland .

"I'd be kidding you on if I said the players we are going to bring in in January are going to massively make a big difference," he said.

"First of all, we probably couldn't get that level of player and, secondly, we probably wouldn't have the finances to do that.

"To suggest that the player we bring in would be making a big difference, I think, wouldn't be correct."
