I'm thinking about it mate yeah, but the night before rather than Sunday night, save the travelling up Sunday morning if I can find something ****ty and dirt cheap. Coach about £20 cheaper (return) doing it that way too. I can see how close it is to Wembley. Also, where in N postcodes will be alright? Looking at N10, N4 & N16?
In case you've missed it THE SAINTS END AT WEMBLEY IS SOLD OUT ...! So let's bounce this thread and get excited all over again. Come on, Beddy and the other more mature fans. How many decades of dross have we watched between us? How many "oh bugger we've just lost to ...." (insert name of lower league club). How many "I thought this was our year" moments. The "Christ, that was two hours of my life spent watching that crap" moments. And in my case, and I am sure others, "bloody hell it's a long way to drive home" moments. If we can't be bloody annoying to everyone who comes within our sphere of influence in the next week or so then we're not really trying. I've just wandered through Chester and people I know are vegetarian saw me coming and suddenly needed to go into McDonalds.
At what point did I say it didn't apply to this season as well?! Crystal Palace away seemed to meet most of those criteria! Any other nominations? But that's exactly my point. This is the big moment. It'll mean sod all to United if they win it. We'll all be talking about it ad nauseum for the next 40 years!
To paraphrase (erudite people on this forum, dontcha know) Bill Shankly: Saints are going to Wembley - It's not a matter of life or death, it's more important than that
I'm not actually that excited to be honest. I mean the fact that I run to the door every time I hear the letter box rattle to check if my tickets have arrived is completely irrelevant.
I always find that I could do with more hands. How can I clap loudly, wave flags and throw red and white balloons in the air all at the same time?
I don't know... I may post a few photos etc. and a "YYEESSSSSSS I ****ING LOVE FOOTBALLLLL!! GET THE **** IN **** OFF YOU MANC TOSSERS"* post at around 19:30 while crying my eyes out celebrating. *paraphrasing.
If I didn't have a ticket I would most likely go to London anyway and drink around the ground during the game.
Love it. Stick to your routines! I am not even the slightest bit religious or superstitious except when it comes to footie. I know all my actions leading up to a win, and curse if I have to change as this guarantees a defeat. One of these is that my phone must be fully charged. My battery got a bit dodgy a few weeks back. Phone bloody died after Manolo's goal against Wet Spam. So I changed phones the other week. Up to Sunderland for its first football outing .... Need I say more? It was, of course, the absence of mobile phones in 1974 that led to our relegation (Thinks, lack of logic? Never!)
Perhaps one day everyone will wear them...then anyone with a boring life could just live someone else's.
