Heads up guise.

There's a wee manky guy running about the forum causing chaos. His name is Jiffy LYT. He is an islamic fundamentalist Celtic supporter.

Do not interact with this nasty piece of work. Do not click on any links he posts. They will take either to awfully shocking porn sites or Muslamic Jihadi videos both of which could see in trouble with the authorities.

He has been reported many times to the moderation on this site but they refuse to do anything about him. We think he may be a relation of the owner.

 

I wonder if someone can revamp this welcome thread??

Can I suggest we simply unsticky it and let it die its own death. It has not been needed for years and no welcome message will change that

The lack of response suggests no-one is really interested. Perhaps, as appears to have already been suggested, it should simply be 'unstickied' and allowed to disappear in its own good time?

I'm not sure Yorkie. I'm trying to put myself in the position of a complete newcomer to the forum - something which we haven't seen for a while. The Hornet's Nest was obviously a thread for new posters to introduce themselves if they wished without going for one of the theme related ones - but, without knowing the history behind the name, the Canary Dave wouldn't work in the same way. I would keep this one going for a while.

 

I have "unstickied" it as it hasn't been used for over five years in any meaningful way. I will put my thinking cap on and see if I can come up with a simple replacement, but it may take a few days.

 

Rather than a thread could we just have a welcome page that invites people to contribute, explaining the function of the Canary Dave etc, and basic etiquette?

 

With the way this forum is run I doubt we'll ever see a newbie again...Our supermod uses it as his personal playground, new joiners aren't allowed.

 

Strange out of the blue comment.

I spoke to @Mick the site owner on Thursday, yes less than a week ago, ask him what I spoke to him about, I've tagged him in for you. He will be able to help you with your concern.

The last ban of newbies I did was either yesterday or the day before, if Mick would like to check the accounts, he will clearly be able to verify why.

But back to your 'strange' comment there is a non newbie I have banned, Sucky, but you know that, yes, I've seen you, you made this comment immiedately after visiting the thread last night, where I banned Sucky, so stop following me around. I've temp banned him, does he supply you with drugs as well? I'll leave him banned longer now, especially for you mate.

People then think they can over-ride bans and create new accounts, ask Beth on the QPR board, how much trouble and abuse that has caused us, actually Mick can read her comments on the mod board. As can the mods on here, to verify it. The endless games of cat and mouse, the threats to destroy the site.

So maybe stop following me around the forum, I can see you everytime you do. I've never forgotten the amount of times you've told me to kill myself on this forum, but it says more about you, then me.

Obviously if Mick would like me to step down, and replace me with YOU, which is what this is all about in your head, then I'll be happy to step aside.

I think you may have not fully understood our issues.... is that we are just not getting any new members ...because in part the forum is not easy to find etc... the app went down etc.... would love a shedload of new members
