Their good result today should be enough to keep the Swans in the Prem. Banter aside I think they have just about been the better team of the poor bottom 4. They will need to keep their better players and spend some big bucks to improve next season, I'm not sure if the Yanks will see it that way. If they don't invest they are only delaying the big drop. I suppose now is not the time for saying the obvious, so... WELL DONE SWANS.
They've just about done the job fair play. I thought that great win of theirs at Liverpool would have been the start of their climb up the table but they faltered a bit after that. Maybe a good job that Sunderland and Boro were in there this season because there's not a lot to choose between the next half dozen teams above those two. Purely In the interest of this going down the wire, it would be a good result for neutrals if Hull beat Palace today - that would mean a 3 way playoff for the final fixtures.
Thanks for the praise, hope to see you back with us in the prem one day soon to renew the great derby games we play.
You've done ever so well this past 6 years or so and in all honesty we've been a very poor second. However, I must say I think our derbies are far more likely to resume in the Championship rather than the Prem.
Ultimately I think the right 3 sides have gone down - you were/are better than them, but it was touch and go. Before Clement came in I didn't give you a light with the Yank in charge. I hope Clement gets the financial support he needs for next season otherwise you'll be battling again.
tiz been a horrible fking weekend ..........anyways congrats on another stay of execution .........may little baby jesus shine his little magic torch down on you
No swans fan, including myself, would argue that we most certainly would have been relegated under the yank. 12 points in our first 19 games. Under Clement 26 points in 18. Massive turn around in a very short space of time. Look forward to seeing what he can do with a pre season behind him. Same could be said for you guys with Warnock
Fair play - credit due where it's merited. On the negative side it means we've got to face Hull & Boro again; probably Tuesday night games.
Well done Swansea. Every Cardiff fan predicted your demise this season. I, however (winner of the league two prediction league might I add ) advised that you fine gentlemen often find yourself falling in the proverbial and come out with an aroma of roses . All the best gents, I think next season could prove difficult if you lose your best players and those tight fisted yanks don't invest some decent cash .
Surely Tan could put his hand in his pocket to help the fans in the 3 long away trips. .It wont hurt him. The player could chip in as well if they had a mind too....
I'm sure it isnt a matter of finance Dai, but more the case on depending where we are in the league and if people would prefer to spend time with their families or watch their team get penetrated from behind for 90 minutes.
Very well done to them, they've deserved to stay up. Surely this summer will hinge on keeping Sigurdsson. He's class and much richer clubs will be very interested, I've seen Everton linked today. His quality will be almost impossible to replace, as it wont be about money it'll be about attracting that level of player. I honestly hope you can keep him and Llorente but it's going to be tough. We can both look forward to managers who have the club moving in the right direction next season. The flip side of those long car journeys is they're the worst 3 sides to be relegated for a good while and none are the sure thing to go back up that the Geordies were this season. It'll be a very open Championship and with a bit of clever recruitment we can definitely be involved.
