Completely agree. And it is oh-so-easy to spot the pundit who has not got a clue, trying to sound knowledgeable about how SFC manage to improve, or at least, keep up the standard, season in, season out. A few posts up I've put up a link for MOTD3 where KIlbane and Savage try to cloud the issue to hide their lack of proper info. Mark Chapman actually makes more sense than they do, and he's just the presenter.

Good analysis....was just waiting for them to say We March On. That's our mantra...can lose managers and players, but we move on virtually unchecked...because we have a plan and stick to it. I hope we all remember this next summer transfer window when we wonder why player X and Y haven't been bought....possibly we couldn't get them, but also possible they don't match our template. Brave words, but I think we may have seasons that are less successful, but disaster can be avoided by good planning.

I used to live in Woolston and run around on a BSA Starfire. Many moons ago.

 

I think we've got the sweet spot between quality and hunger in the team. Unlike the 'top four' teams which consist of overpaid prima donnas, we've got undoubted quality in the squad with players who have made it but not necessarily reached the top of the game (we play the role of that final springboard for players). They all share this mentality as a team. And can have confidence in each other's abilities but with that added hunger in comparison with teams saturated with quality where players guys over rely on this and don't put their foot on the gas 100% of the time.
