There you are Cromer - why we're running out of courgettes - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/headlines/38674944 and on the proper thread!!!
Just wondered if any of you Fine City dwellers have tried Cosmo, in London St where Habitat used to be, above Laura Ashley? £8 for all you can eat lunch on weekdays! http://www.cosmo-restaurants.co.uk/locations/norwich/
I've been a couple of times to the Norwich one and the ones in Derby and Nottingham too. They are a cut above the rest of the buffet restaurants I've been to. Loads of nice dishes and who can argue with the price even at £15 on a sunday when you can fill your boots on crispy duck that would cost £8 or more anywhere else! I don't like going too often though, as my inner pig doesn't take mush coertion to come out and eating till I hit slightly uncomfortable ain't good. Its all so darned tasty though! (Except maybe the Thai stuff which is a bit mild and below par) Bah!
Trying "Turtle Bay" for the first time for a quick lunch. The place and menu looks amazing! Definitely want to come back here one night, with all the lights and design. Lots of spicy looking, different gorgeous dishes. Going to come here one night with a friend couplecwho we do curry nights with. They will love it. I've ordered a jerk goat burger. Never had goat before. I'm drinking a carrot, mango and ginger smoothy. Different, but nice and refreshing.
I made tagliatelle carbonara with smoked pancetta and gruyere cheese grated and mixed into the egg with parmesan and plenty of ground pepper for lunch with a glass of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon .
Just had chicken en croute with potato wedges and Meditteranean roast veg WITH COURGETTES!!! I was able ti buy some in my local Lidl and I don't think the price had gone up too much.
We finally tried "The Crown" at Great Ellingham for lunch today. What a cracking place! Beautiful from the outside, really clean, spacious, modern and bright inside. The food was fantastic. We had roast Beef, Yorkies, Roasties, loads of veg and Horseradish. I had Sticky Toffee pudding, toffee sauce and honeycomb ice cream. It was divine. GF had Lemon fool with Berries, she loved that too. Will now be a regular.
I think so. For the quality of it. about £45 for 2 beef roasts, 2 deserts and 2 drinks. Not cheap, but didn't mind paying that for how much we enjoyed it.
We really liked it. The place is lovely too. they had a big function room that was closed, plus looked like a lovely patio area with seating, and a garden beyond. Looking forward to going there in the summer and sitting out there. As we walked out, we saw a small section which had a telly with some sport on it. Might show football in a little bar area, which would also be good.
I would rather eat out less often and go somewhere where you get good service and good value!!! 'Says he who's going to the Queen of Iceni for steak and chips before we play the Magpies on Tuesday!!!!'
Nothing wrong with that mate!! Spoons every now and again is a nice treat! I think the taste exceeds the price most of the time there.
My local Wetherspoons is brilliant for food, Thursday night is curry night, you get a large plate of curry, (4 or 5 choices) plus half and half (rice and chips) and a pint or a soft drink, all for £6.00 - excellent value!
