My all time fave guitarist is Al di Meola. Anything (and everything) from flamenco to fusion jazz. Privileged to see him play live years ago in the Royal Festival Hall - goosebumps the size of marbles! Quite like Joe Satriani as well, a bit frantic but great on my mp3 player if on a flight there are squawking kids in the row behind. Or trains, coaches etc.
Very nice. I don't know much about Al di Meola, I'll check him out. I remember a comment from someone saying this is what Carlos Santana would sound like if he practiced!
@Gandy Just 'discovering' blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa. (Yep, I'm behind the times) but he's immense
Yeah, me too CC. Grew up listening to the great British guitarists (plus Hendrix who was an honorary Brit) and am only now waking up to the fact some of the yanks may also be good. I see this as a good thing. More to be aware of, more to appreciate.
Not sure where this was from.Think it was "You're the worst" But this song is class. Kinda Bon Iver crossed with Ben Howard.
I looked him up on Wiki, apparently it followed a sequence of dreams that he had, makes David Icke sound normal!
Just heard on Planet Rock that The Doors first album, titled - funnily enough, The Doors and containing their first hit single 'Light my Fire' was released on Jan 4th 1967! Over half a century ago
Sorry, but I felt inclined to agree with this fella Chris@Keels811 The absolute state of pop music in 2017 if Ed Sheeran is considered good please log in to view this image
