The 1980s had incredible music, fantastic cheesy tv and goddam awful fashion. The decade of my childhood so I loved it all naturally.

Has to be the music. Have recently started downloading a lot of songs from i-tunes and it amazing how much is from the 80's.
Cracking period for me - finished University, first job, first time I travelled abroad then ended up spending 4 years of it working in Houston and then Peru. Finally ended up marrying my first wife towards the end of the decade which marked the point where the fun ended and my life went downhill rapidly!

I used to remember sneaking downstairs to watch Starskey and Hutch with my dad on a Friday night.
The clothes and trends back then seemed so unique.

Music, TV and some classic films for me. I grew up in the 80's [born late 70's] and the one time that I would love to go back to.

I'll get stick for this, but the one song that makes me think of the 80's and always will is 'True' by Spandau Ballet. I can remember exactly what I was doing the first time I heard it back in 1983. The day I went to see Return of the Jedi. It also reminds me of Knight Rider, Chips, Airwolf, A-team, Rocky IV, Magnum P.I., Ghostbusters, Gremlins, Beverly Hills Cop, Top of the Pops, Wide Awake Club, Saturday Morning Picture Show, Grange Hill, MASK, Masters of the Universe, Transformers, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Ulysses 31, Dogtanian and the Three Muskerhounds. Jesus. I feel depressed now.

You'd still find them torn up in bushes back then.

    Commando -

'Don't disturb my friend he's DEAD tired'
'You're a funny guy Solly, I like you. That's why I'm going to kill you last'
'Where's Solly?' 'I let him go'
    'Let off some steam Bennett!'

    Classic.

For me it was the decade when music started to slowly die especially in comparison to the music and breadth of music in the 1960's and 1970's.

Main memories are getting married and my 3 kids being born. Now have to decide whether that's good or bad!!! I'll get back to you on that...
