I was under the impression that UWE were pulling the plug at the end of June, so when we win the case if the judgement hasn't been made in time then we will have to find a new site and that will delay it even more

The reason why the judge a few months ago agreed to a quick court case for May was because Rovers said UWE were losing patience and may pull out. Could be wrong.

I seem to remember that UWE were making noises that they would need to utilise the land for other purposes and needed a decision fairly soon.

The dilemma for them is that the siting of the stadium would be huge for their international reputation.

Well this must be one tough case for The Right Honourable Judge, having looked at next Mondays listings we are still not down so time continues to drag on. I just hope that we will see justice done with the verdict coming down in favour of Rovers. Sainsburys have behaved like the Greeks, happy to sign up when all was well and they wanted the loot or in the case of Stainburys (The Mem) but as times change wanting an out. Very honourable I don't think ? You borrows the money or commit to a deal and you see it through.

Getting stupid now. And as the judge takes longer on this, im guessing prices of materials etc will go up, so will we still be able to even afford to build UWE stad?

I just think Justice Proudman is stuck between a rock and a hard place. If she opts for Rovers, probably all hell will break loose with the case setting a precedent for all of Sainsbury's other victims of unsatisfactory planning withdrawals. If she opts for Sainsburys then she allows them to get away with what appears to be some pretty unsavoury tactics right across the country. I would be surprised if she isn't consulting her colleagues in the Chancery Court to seek advice to ensure there is a general agreement on making a fair decision.

Very good and fair observations Sapphire. The facts are that in law regardless of the outcome precedents have to be set otherwise there is no case law to actually follow and set the way ahead for future cases of a similar nature. Maybe a little stirring of the hornets nest (or in this case Sainsburys roughsot methods) is needed to ensure the small man (being Rovers) do not continually get shafted by Big Business.
I see sadly no listing is shown for Monday so I reckon we are still 10 days away at least.

Wish they'd get a move on. I noticed that the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain had a case heard there last week...

Yeah, it was a bit 'strung out' but they 'fiddled it' their way in the end.
