Sorry, to try and lighten the mood I tried to show the formula that our Swords often gets his kicks from in images.
A picture speaks a 1000 words UTR and it is to your credit that you offer the illiterate the opportunity to cop the hump with Swords too I doff my hat to you Sir No offence intended btw Swords
[QE="Pils-the-hoop, post: 7681745, member: 1007568"]Wanted to just re-visit RTID's post. Although we are now 2 points shy of where we needed to be according to this I genuinely think that on tonights performance we have a good chance of picking up the 5 wins needed at the following games: Palace away Everton home Villa away Newcastle home Leicester away Factor in possible draws at WBA away and Hammers at home and that will give us 39 points. A win either against WBA or WH and we should be safe. Everton and Villa may well end up crucial 6 pointers tbh. A tough, tough ask admittedly, but alway the pessimist me and not beyond the realms of possibility. Whatever happens, as long as we keep Chris Ramsey as head coach I will continue to feel positive about our future. U RRRRRRRRR's
I saw nothing tonight from Ramsey's tactics to feel positive about. Same old 4-4-****ing-2 and lump it up to Bobby. May as well have kept Redknapp!
No question that it's going to be tight & things going against us late in games like Southampton or for Villa the other night certainly aren't going to help our cause. Whether CR deserves to stay next year has got to be results based rather than just a feel good factor because a few youngsters have been picked, so far it's 3 points from 12 so for all the optimism the results/points are not there (yet).
I saw nothing tonight from Ramsey's tactics to feel positive about. Same old 4-4-****ing-2 and lump it up to Bobby. May as well have kept Redknapp!
Gunna be tough getting a win at Crystal Meth but I can feel it in my veins. Everton possible draw or even a win........... Martinez losing the team a bit so we need to make this win happen. Villa ........ we must pick one up on Sherwood, for no other reason but because of him. ( me hold grudges, never! ) Newcastle ......... hopefully a win so the Geordies have a long road trip home! (me bad sport ...... who would think that? ) Leicester ............ hopefully win with an added bonus, Pearson going apeshit on the sideline for whatever reason and being axed. ( me spiteful, not a chance. )
I am always optimistic, but I feel that a defeat tomorrow might just increase the pressure more than we can handle. The mood with the players and supporters is black or white depending on whether we are above or below the dreaded line. Three points tomorrow and the mood in the squad before the trip to Palace will be a lot less stressful.
We've finally made up a couple of points from the list in the OP. If we were to beat Villa on Tuesday we would only be a couple of points off target. I do realise that is a big 'if' ie winning two away games on the trot. It is strange what one win does. The pundits are just as fickle as we are. Shearer points out on MOTD that we have four winnable games (his words) - Villa, West Ham, Newcastle and Leicester. Instead of dismissing us in a heart beat, he concedes that survival is indeed possible. I'm really grateful to Ramsey and the team for not giving up as some of us here - including me - have done. It is fantastic to see that whether we survive or not, the team will fight to the end and that is good news whichever way you look at it.
Through my rose tinted glasses - 7 remaining games = 12 points = Season Total of 37 points Aston Villa v QPR - 3 pts Tue 7 Apr 19:45 QPR v Chelsea - 1 pt Sun 12 Apr 13:30 QPR v West Ham - 3 pts Sat 25 Apr 15:00 Liverpool v QPR - 1 pt Sat 2 May 15:00 Man City v QPR - 0 pts Sun 10 May 13:30 QPR v Newcastle - 3 pts Sat 16 May 15:00 Leicester v QPR - 1 pt Sun 24 May 15:00
I live each day, each week, month and year without expectation but never does the fire of hope get extinguished; it might flicker and dwindle but that flame will never die.
But three draws are only as good as one win and two losses - every game to finish line we must really go for it, especially when fighting back from losing positions, then a draw is a satisfactory outcome.
