That's obviously an old joke, like the Jim Magilton one, but how did it come about.? I can imagine Saints being interested in someone of Matt Holland's quality, back in the early 2000's, but why the lengthy medical observation.?
I think we need to be savvy... Although I'm not counting my chickens and I hate wanting Arsen-hole to win, but on the form of Villa, they should be torn a new one at Wembley and thus putting us into the Europa league. I suspect we have a few lined up, but we need to move quickly this year and get the majority of signings done as soon as possible. We have elevated ourselves this year to just outside top 6 contenders, a lot of people want to be like us and will start to splash the cash....we need to be in control of the market this year rather than the market controlling us....
Vilhena doesn't excite me that much. For me he's the guy who can't get in the Feyenoord first 11. While Clasie, on the other hand, is Feyenoord's key player, Dutch international and already a proven quality. I really want him.
Wasn't it on the old 606, around the start of the Liebherr takeover? A poster (possibly Rocket Swanie) stated that he was in a medical, but a transfer never came to fruition. At least, I think that's how it started. Someone with more time than me might want to go a digging for it!
That's about right I think. Swanie kept insisting the medical was happening/going to happen and of course it never did.It was then dragged out for the next 3 or 4 transfer windows, along with Freddie Adu and Jim Magilton being sacked. Made me smile that Matt Holland had heard all the rumours too.
Not on the list and probably not a fashionable player(largely due to his dancing) but would anyone take Elmohamady from Hull as a possible right back option
I don't doubt that he's talented and I'm not against buying him. But that's exactly the way I see him - a player who will be very good for us, with time. Clasie, on the other hand, would make an immediate impact. That's why I care a lot more about buying Clasie.
Call me crazy, but there is something that really excites me about N'Doye from Hull. His finishing can be woeful but I think he could be a very decent striker I a decent team
Personally I've gone for 5 of those, Vilhena has already agreed terms with the club, Just up to the clubs now. Clasie seems like a like for like replacement for the outgoing Morgan Clyne Will re-sign I'm sure. Southampton will get there man in Toby and im hopeful of Austin too. Im kinda hoping we sign Sam Byram of leeds
Why? Have you seen that much of him.? My Leeds friends say he is ok, but nothing special. We've been rumoured for a while about him and I've only seen him a couple of times when he didn't stand out.
Toby (according to Sky) says he will be at Atletico, Southampton or another club next season. Doesn't that cover everything? Specifics, specifics, Toby......as long as you only say Southampton
Window officially opens on July 1st, plenty of water to flow down the Itchen before we get anything concrete.
Because he is young and when ever I see him play he looks decent. Good going forward and can do a little bit defensively. Not bad to have to cover the right side of the pitch. Not ot mention he could potentially be a very good player for the future.
Maybe. My brother in law who is a Leeds fan says "He's ok," not much more. I've not seen enough to judge him really. Just the couple of games where he didn't stand out, but that's not enough for me to make a verdict, hence me asking.
You're crazy! I actually agree with you. I thought both Hull strikers gave our defence a headache at St Mary's the other week. Very good pace and strength, but the question mark is on his finishing which is kinda important for a striker. Could be on the back up list
