Has anyone heard any rumours that SL has bought or in negotiations to buy the Wickes "Industrial estate" ?

Yes. Forgotten the name of the company buying up sites but its registered to Mr Lansdown/associates. The land is supposedly earmarked for hotels - A Bristol Sport Directors area of expertise.

not really, but of course depends on the "grade" in France there are many hotels situated on industrial or service sites Accors chain types for example £30 - 40 a night for 3 bed room breakfast about £5 or less ..
Airport expansion .. route up ASHTON by pass via tanks, or further on to Brockley also what is the longer term plan for the A38 /southern bypass , ? a link road to/via long ashton / clevedon/portishead? and so to M5 / link to m5 at Avonmouth
use of the stadium .. overnight stay for music rugby football fans? business conferences fifty rooms! yup seems like a plan!
quite a few good reasons methinks.....

That's what would be perfect. A multi story car park that could get a thousand or so cars in so we don't have the police on our back about parking in streets! God help us if we ever get 27000 down there one day. Might as well walk from your house.

    Spot on Shiny.
Always paid to park in the Winterstoke car park but thrown out with the new 'developments'.

We live 15 miles from AG, so walking isn't an option and currently leave home 3 bloody hours to park within a 15 minute walk.
The Charlton result was tough to take made a worse by a £30 parking ticket.

So pissed off with SL and Ashton, and with the parking problems it's 50/50 whether we bother next season.

Parking is a real issue and the locals are getting restless hence recent police activity. Unfortunately some City supporters adopt a ****'em attitude but that does not solve the problem. Local Council are being chased about using the Park and Ride but come up with the following excuses. Its in North Somerset, only part owned by BCC, no clear walking route, planning constraints. I cant understand why the Council does not utilise Greville Smythe Park but here again locals not keen. The 6 monthly review of the Southville RPS might move it up the political ladder. But I do agree it is a real issue which needs sorting

There is something in the planning permission that the Council has to introduce some sort of scheme when we three consecutive 25K plus crowds. Anyone know what it is?

Utilise the land at Ashton Vale, car park for football and rugby match days with buses to ground, Sunday car boot sales, Balloon festival parking, Friday markets etc etc
