if he is willing I see no reason why he should not be retained for another year, he is a solid player in times of adversity and never gives up ..

the oldest person on earth has just died at 117, the average age on tombstones in the cemeteries have gone up by a lot since the 60's ( pre 70 for men then ) and yet there is "background thoughts" in peoples minds that a footballer is done when he reach's 30 +. I am not going to do a list but Wilbs and Ibramovich along with Giggs certainly buck those thoughts / trends............

Wilb's game was never based on pace, so he'll be able to contribute at a high level for much longer than many of his contemporaries - it also seems that he looks after himself.

Provided he's not paid too much, he's a fine backup option & valuable for his presence off the pitch as well - I'd be happy for him to get another year.

He has three painkiller injections a year, so his fitness ain't what a lot of us think it is.
We've always want to keep players due to sentiment but if this club wants to move on we've got to stop being so loyal. so it's a no from me.

I don't think sentiment comes into Wilbs being a player we should keep for sentiments sake, he has done a good job so far steps in and can help secure a win/draw
Sentiment comes when a player has put in 15 +years just about makes the squad and really should have hung up his boots!

Came on this thread to post this. Nothing against the bloke but we have Djuric that can do his job.

Wouldn't mind him as a coach though.

I agree with the above comment but I would take it one stage further, one year contract, player coach and we get the best of both worlds.

When he comes on, he is one of those players that I call a niucance, to the other team in our case. He has always had some effect and is a good target man. Initially,I would have said keep for another year, but I also see where people are coming from

If he could coach Durjic to give the same presence and be a nuisance to defenders he has been, then it could be well worth giving him a go as a coach.

I'd be a no also but we could find ourselves in a tricky situation next season with only 2 strikers at the moment (assuming McCoulsky isn't promoted into the first team).

Three, Djuric, Taylor and the forgotten one Engvall.
I think Patterson was bought to play more forward as well but could be wrong on that one.

Ah yeah, I did forget about Engvall. I've never heard of Paterson playing as a striker and wouldn't really want him to to be honest.

We need to move on and not be hoping a near 40 year old can work the oracle at this level..

Tammy is the one player who almost single handedly has given us a chance of survival.

My main concern is where the goals will come from next season as there is no one else in the squad capable of 10-12 goals let alone 25 plus.

It would be nice to think so, but already I think he can do much better than us to further his career.....

You've got more chance of being the next President of America. if they was to loan him to us again they may as well sold him to us with first choice buy back at a set figure.
He will either be loaned to a newly promoted Prem club or as the rumours are going Leicester will buy him.
