I do feel for wenger; don't get me wrong I absolutely want a change of manager - its time, but he has done a lot for this club and I do wish he would have won it one more time. Sadly looks like its not to be, and it's a bit of a shame he won't get to go out on top.
If it is his last season, then I think the football world will come together to celebrate his career at the end of the season. The bloke is an absolute legend.
I think this is what a lot of people wanot including me but there comes a time when you have to look past nostalgia and towards change.
To be fair old cocks , he's yesterday's man . Your remember him as a legend. I don't think you would have had the su ch success early on if the dodgy corrupt pumped up owners had arrived. He got you through that period when you sold your best players . Know has bought some top talent , Sanchez outstanding, Bugged eyed Turkish kraut mediocre etc but hasn't and won't win you the league. Don't like the geezer , comes across a wet fish , aloof , a skinny headmaster. To be fair it's harder than ever when 2 teams have such a head start . More Mary Popping s today .
Wenger's time coming to an end - Wright Arsenal v Hull (12:30 GMT) Posted at9:41 Getty Images It's a bit of a no win situation for Arsene Wenger today. Lose or draw and the Frenchman will come in for criticism again. Win big and some will say he can only do the business against the smaller teams in the Premier League. Whatever the outcome of this campaign, Gunners legend Ian Wright thinks Wenger will leave when his contract expires in the summer. "I get the impression that that's it," the ex-Arsenal striker told BBC Radio 5 live. "He looks tired. You just feel that he looks winded. I feel that he will go at the end of the season."
Looks like he will give his decision in soon but either way he will continue managing.. where do you think he would go if he left the Emirates :/?
I'd have said go back to France ... can't see him leaving Arsenal at the moment though not until his contract is up!!
I'd like to see him manage another club and see what he can do with them. I think he's become stale with us and the change might make a difference. As for England, I'd like to see him do that. He'll know how to manage the media well. But I can't see him doing much better than the others who have come in. Only Mourinho or someone similar could get this England any further.
Wenger is no longer an elite manager but he's still better than anyone to have managed England over the last few years. I would be quite interested to see that.
Maybe, but there's more money than ever in the EPL yet the top sides are mediocre. You can see that from how poorly we do in Europe. Back when Arsenal were winning things the English Clubs were FAR more competitive in Europe. I still think Wengers 1998,2001 and 2003/2004 sides would run away with this league. There's no real quality sides at the mo.
For the sake of my sanity please **** off and go Mr Wenger. Yes you were great. You won't be great again. Yes you won many trophies. You won't win any more Yes you discovered Henry, Anelka, etc. You also bought utter ****. Yes you got us in to CL 21 times. You never won it. Yes you got us Top 4 21 times. You won't this year. Arsene Wenger thanks for all the great memories, please just go.
Bloody hell. I didn't think anyone would be below us in that head to head. We've only started improving in that area since Poch took over. Under AVB and Sherwood I reckon we averaged 0-5 defeats against the big guns - as indicated by the fact that we have conceded 90 goals .
Whatever the measures are of late, things do not stack up well for Wenger bar the PL top 4 Cup, do they.
