Surely someone can offer him a better deal than we can afford. No harm in hoping but I'm not holding my breath.

I think the only chance he will sign with us is Pierre, 1) they have played together since youth team so must be good mates 2) he has seen pierre sign a professional contract and settle and play regular football, as opposed to a youth contract 3) he can see the two playing together at the back and thinks he can take s places.

All very weak, but I'm hoping. However I doubt he would turn down a premiership or even championship professional contract for us. In fact he would be silly to do that.

Saunders however might be a better bet, due to his age and the prospect of a) regular football b) maybe to finish off a job he would have seen through if he lasted longer than 2 seconds.

Just seen Saunders is contracted for another year to the bees, so I guess little chance there unless Gaz works his magic. Not unknown for a mutal contract termination in this situation.

Its a very long shot, I think our only chance is if we can ensure him we can keep this squad together. Would he want to sign if he thought that JJ, Ingram Holloway etc wont be here next season?
