Klose did come off the bench against Leeds, so will probably start. Efete and Godfrey could both be on the bench as Godfrey can cover at RB. CB or DM.
I'd think that the Faroe Islands were pretty defensive, but Middleton might find more scope against the more attack minded Hungary.
Yes Rick - the report I read did say that they packed their defence and I'm sure that didn't manage even one shot on target!!
Youth news. New contracts and yet more releases, bit surprised to see Ben Killip & Ray Grant outed! http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/arti...2684.aspx?utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral
Killip, Grant and McGrandles are surpsises, I'd heard good things about all three. Did Grant not get a run out for the first team this season?
Pretty much agree, though I think there are better players coming through than Grant and really pleased to see Adams and Efete have had their contracts extended.
Those 3 were a surprise to me as well. Can't believe that McGrandles was on £8K a week, coming here from Falkirk. Good news for Efete and Adams though and suggests that they could have a chance in the first team next season (and maybe Sunday).
I'm glad we at least extended contracts for Efete and Ebou, but I'd rather we had signed them to new contracts. Two of our brightest prospects will now be out of contract on 1 July 2018.
Hopefully, they'll continue to impress when they return to training and the early part of next season and be offered new contracts early next year.
With no new HC yet, I can understand the extension rather than a new contract. Hopefully they will impress next season and push on JMF.
I'd like to see them both get an opportunity in pre season and in the EFL Cup (or whatever they decide to call it next season!!)
I'm pretty confident that they will, both in the EFL Cup and the other one, whatever it's called. It may also depend on how successful any new players brought in are.
That makes sense, RER. Webber is busy sorting the the finances (shifting players out), and probably wants the new HC's input on who we sign. I just would rather we were proactive with those two, they can't be on too much money.
I agree CS, I was just suggesting what SW's logic might be. We now have at least 7 young players pushing for first team involvement (not including the Murphys who are senior players now). That was the source of our success back in the early 90s and could be again.
I've always said he's a player to watchhttp://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/glenn-middleton-is-ready-for-lift-off-at-norwich-city-1-5014740 - Edit - Apparently, Scotland lost to a last minute winner against France - the tournament favourites. This comment from the Scottish Sun - "Middleton showed all of his pace and penetrative powers to burst in from the left but, to his obvious dismay, his shot was deflected just wide of Nathan Cremilliieux’s right-hand post." Hopefully, highlights here -
Michee Efete going to Iceland on loan until June 30. Some good experience hopefully. http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/michee-efete-breidablik-loan-3714723.aspx
Thanks for that Rick and it's certainly good news IMO, as I feel he should be at least part of the first team squad next season.
