Article into days Sunday Telegraph Sport about,......Yann Songo'o and his past....his older brother Franck and his father Jacques who played for the Cameroons in the 1998 World Cup. and was part of the legendary 1990's squad that reached the quarter finals against England.

Nothing really about Argyle and their match against Liverpool.....just about Derek Adams bringing him down from Ross County and the main thing is to get promotion this season.....a bit disappointing really.

I shall be watching the match today at the "Daylight Inn" near here....I shall pop along in the car and drink only Coca Cola.....so I can get back quickly.

Not a Pub that I frequent often... to dear.....the other Pub in Petts Wood is Wetherspoons "The Sovereign of the Seas" far more pocket friendly and personally cheaper and better food.....they don't go in for big screen football there.

If we can stay 0-0 for the first 20 minutes I shall be satisfied.....with our powder puff attack I'm not expecting us to scare them too much.

Best of luck today folks. Not sure I'll be able to watch it as it's on BT Sport. I'll see if my son can wangle it somehow.

    Come on The Pilgrims!!!!!!

May your flower bloom today. <cheers>

Magnificent team performance. It was up to Liverpool to win it and we were never really troubled. Ninety minutes defending and not a single booking says it all.

    More injuries however.....

Jurgan Klopp's disrespect for Argyle came unstuck when his youngsters could not score against the Greens....only having 4 shots on target (BBC) from numerous opportunities. The game was played for most of the match in Argyles penalty area....but a very disciplined Plymouth won everything in the air....only for the ball to come straight back.

Klopp in desperation put on Sturridge, Lallana and Firminio.....Sturridge had two chances but to no avail.....Argyle held out for 6 minutes of injury time....caused by an injury to Miller who was eventually stretchered off with what looked like an ankle problem....having come down awkwardly on it.

Garita ran himself to a standstill up front....showing his strength and ability to shield the ball....but Argyle couldn't give him enough support because of how defensively they where set-up......when Tanner replaced him... he had one good run down the right wing cutting inside beating the full-back but running into other defenders. Jervis also played well down the same wing going past the defender with ease.....but as already said....Argyle just couldn't get up to support. Carey had one good free kick late on...but the goalkeeper took it inside his left-hand post mid body without too much trouble.

Klopp showed a lack of knowing what to do to change it.....I believe he expected them to score eventually....but it didn't happen.....it was a sight to behold as the camera panned across more than 40,000 scousers sitting there heads down quiet as church mice.....in the background you could hear the greenarmy singing...Argyle, Argyle, Argyle...a sweet sound to hear.

At the final whistle Argyle players looked so shattered they could hardly celebrate....but the greenarmy did enough for them.....there will be some happy bunnies travelling to the south West tonight.

I need to lay down for a little rest myself having headed every cross and diverted every through ball myself....brilliant result.........what's the betting that Klopp will not be starting with the youngsters in the replay.....:1980_boogie_down:...:emoticon-0140-rofl:...:emoticon-0137-clapp.

PS.....We saw one Liverpool player crying to the Ref in the first half holding his ear protest forever.....later we where shown in slow motion Bradley's hand coming over this players shoulder and pinching his ear.....definately unsettled him.

Loved Derek Adams' pre match interview. Commentator "You must have thought about the options of sitting back and trying to smother Liverpool or attacking a young team and trying to get the win?" Adams "Yes, we could do either of those things."

Firstly plym I don't think there was any disrespect shown by Klopp. He did what most of the premiership clubs would have done playing league 2 opposition. He changed the entire outfit.

Some of the people I watched this match with thought Argyle were so negative it was embarrassing. I kept telling them that there was nothing wrong with the tactic and you could see that a stall had been set out with the aim of at least not losing. We gave them the ball and invited them to play. They huffed and they puffed but we were not particularly troubled for the whole of the game. I never at any point thought they were going to score. That is almost a first at Anfield this season for any side. They have some useful looking players in their youth but I thought we looked very comfortable against them. Even when he brought on the 3 subs I still thought we coped very well. Hardly any attacks by us and the only way we wre going to do anything was a break away. Poor old Garita was so isolated with the only ball he got being pumped up to him with nobody within a mile in a green shirt.

As a spectacle this was pretty rubbish but what it has done is bring them back to Home Park for another payday which for us is a decent outcome. Strangely all of the people moaning about our lack of attempts were celebrating at the end. All happy for a replay and the cash. Funny how people change aint it. Not much to say except I thought all of the Argyle players did their part today. They were given a plan and boy did they stick to it.

Greetings fellow Greens, safely back in Manchester following trams, trains and cars and a magnificent day out in Liverpool. I won't attempt a normal match report as clearly you all saw it and in terms of the football there isn't a lot to say. It was one of those that was hugely more enjoyable in the flesh than on the telebox. Fair play to Afield they know how to put on an event. Friendly staff at the station directed us to a cheap bus to the ground and the two unsegregated fanszones had plenty for all; eateries, live music, bars and lots of activities for the younger ones. The seats were pretty good__though any further back and the view does start to get a bit iffy. For whatever reason Mr Klopp spent the entire warm up just staring at the argyle players _it clearly didn't work. Argyle were absolutely immense in defence-not sure how much it comes across on the telly but the individual technical skill and the constant movement off the ball by all the Liverpool players was outstanding and they are a real class apart from league 2. Liverpool fans were v quiet and we were pretty noisy-again not sure if it came across on the box. The last 10 mins felt like a hour but to be fair, I was fairly confident from about 75 mins in, even his big guns didn't really trouble us. Bradley was immense and my MOTM but Luke also did well and there was hardly a mistake in the team. Great result and another pay day at the replay.

There is an element of not very happy bunny noises over on the Liverpool board but in fairness not too many decrying our tactics. They didn't think it was very good that's for sure but mostly understood it. More than I can say for the punditry of that nob end McManaman who was co-commentating. He is just a patronising twonk who has no grasp of anything if you ask me. Why he would expect us to go full tilt at Anfield I have no idea. Back to school for him I think. They are not very happy with the strength or depth of their second string. Mutterings of having to get some in if they are going to do anything. They do not want the replay. Overall though we aren't being slated and I got a few well played comments we did what we had to do. Next time though there has to be an outcome.

I have a question for anyone who complains about our tactics.

Liverpool are drawn against Barcelona in a two leg European knock-out tie, away leg first. They defend very deep, allowing Barcelona to play up to the final third. They do very little going forward but Barcelona hardly get a clear shot on goal and Liverpool achieve a 0-0 result. That means they only need a single goal at home to go through. Would that be regarded as unambitious or a great performance? I think we know the answer. Over to you Mr. McManaman, you complete idiot..

I wouldn't say it was entertaining for the neutral armchair TV fan Lyndhurst but for the committed, it was edge of the seat stuff throughout. All we heard was the Argyle fans, loud and clear, including the "This is a library" chant!

Miller's ankle isn't broken. Some bone splinters loose and ligament damage to be assessed.

Problem watching it in the pub is that the sound isn't loud enough to hear over the general babble of other pub users ...eating, drinking and socializing....so commentary not to clear for an aging pair of ears.

    You didn't miss anything Plymborn.

You may have seen that Steve McManaman has drawn one or two adverse comments about his ludicrous and uninformed commentary. Apparently Argyle's role should have been to throw everything into attack so as to make life easy for Liverpool's youngsters. Defending was an unsporting tactic which could only upset the young darlings in front of their adoring fans. Argyle losing 4 or 5 nil would also have given McManaman something to talk about and thereby gloss over his complete lack of any insight into the game. It's even made the national newspapers.....
