If, and none of us know the money involved, Purrington was let go for £300k then I think that's still Plymouth prices. i would have expected more. Not interested in whether he wanted to go or not to be honest. It's imaterial. Not trying to hold on to a player who has played a reasonable part in Argyle's season so far is not showing any ambition whatsoever. We do not need the cash so why do we have to look desperate.

Up to this point I had been reasonably happy with Argyle's transfer window. We can still get promotion without Purrington but that's not the point for me. Brent doesn't change. Dangle a coin of the realm in front of his face and he sits up and begs. The man is a cheap skate.

Seems from the 'erald it was more about him wanting to leave and DA agreeing to it-I doubt very much whether JB was involved at all.

"ere boss I wanna leave" "ok by then" No effort to keep him at all from the sound of that. One year deal, piss poor wage. Tell you what son, you're in my plans when we go up and here is another year and a pay rise to show good intent. After all we got a few quid from the cups and play offs. Purrington was an asset to the club. I do not believe Brent had no say in any of it except no he can't have more money. Now that I would believe. Adams has freed up wages and brought in several players in place. Despite all of the money this club has generated lately Brent appears to have released diddly feck all extra. Everything on the cheap and if they blow promotion this time because of a lack of support for the playing side then Brent will reap the whirlwind. Or the supporters will when half of them decide to do something else on a Saturday and end up killing the club off. We could have splashed out a couple of hundred thousand on some extra insurance and he still would have had a stash left over. I happen to think that we can still do the promotion bit with this squad but I still think that's regardless of Brent rather than because of him.

I see one of our winger targets (or so we're told) Jordan Flores has been loaned to Blackpool by Wigan.

I will be genuinely shocked if any other player is signed in this transfer window. That's IN by the way not OUT.

Adams has said that he is still after a winger....waiting on Warnock to bring in a player..... before releasing the player we want.

Yep, we have heard it all before from Colin. Up to now though a player has never turned up. Lets see if he breaks a habit of a lifetime then.

Colin...huh.....Neil Warnock said that he was looking for a new winger, when he finds one.... he will loan us one of his existing ones.....he has two who get played now and again.

The obvious one we all know is Craig Noone...I cannot see that happening.....more likely to be Matt Kennedy....who is also around the first team squad.

How long will Derek Adams wait ? today is the last day of the window....I hope Adams has pencilled someone else in....incase Warnock doesn't get his man....he has upped his bid to £750,000 for a lad from Aberdeen called Jonny Hayes......but Aberdeen suggest that Warnock gets real....so it might not happen.

You must know where his nickname of Colin comes from plym. Neil Warnock minus the letters that make up Colin = another anagram.

He has promised us things many times before. I would happily take Noone for the rest of the season mind.

I don't know how long Purrington's contract was but it's a fact of life now that if the player wants to go, you might as well take what you can get or end up with nothing. Look at what Payet's just done to West Ham and he was on a 4 year contract and had just received a £150k "loyalty" bonus!

I'm with Lyndhurst. Purrington was solid but don't forget he probably wouldn't have been in the team if Sawyer was fit. Now that Andy Kellett, he was a real left back....

I feel your pain Sensible, but I still think you are wrong. Purrington clearly wanted away and was allowed to go. I am sure Adams has some money to play with but the last thing he is going to do is to offer a young relatively inexperienced fringe player a hefty wage rise that would put him on more than the real key stars of the side. Carey, Fox, Bradley, McCormick etc-all that would do is spread discontentment in the changing room and equally I doubt he is in the position (nor would wish to) simply give a hefty pay rise across the board just to keep a malcontent at the club. I say again, I liked BP but don't think he is any great loss.
I think DA has been quite well financed in the window and with Sarcevic, Taylor, Blissett and the two loanees in, and only Goodwillie,Osbourne and Purrington out I think he has strengthened quite well. Still plenty of time for strength to be added to your argument when the big boys come in with silly money for Bradders and Carey though.

Rumour has it that Matt Kennedy will be coming on loan from Cardiff.....cannot prove that at the moment.

I've just read that as well plym so it looks like Colin may have finally fullfilled his promise.

I'm surprised at how quickly we put down some of our players if they leave. Purrington has been a big feature of this season so far and has done extremely well. I do not subscribe to this inexperienced fringe thing at all. Considering his age he has developed well and it is players like him who are the future of the club. Other teams if forced to sell their future do so at a much better price than Argyle seem to. Nobody is expecting Argyle to break any Bank to keep any of their players. But if they show the sort of promise for the future as Purrington for example I would expect a better contract offer in an attempt at least to retain. Show Argyle a shiny coin and they assume the begging pose. As for the want to go thing why wouldn't he if there is no attempt to keep him. Loyalty goes two ways and expecting somebody to stay here on the cheap is not showing much of it. Nobody has said give him a huge rise to better the rest of them. Just a proper wage comensurate with his standing this season.

Rooney, that's our Rooney not MU, has been loaned out to Hartlepool. Apparently this took place 17 seconds before the window shut. Never saw that one coming. I don't think he really fits into Adams' plans yet so am not surprised at the loan and think it is a reasonable move for him. Think he has to earn a contract at the end of this season so looks like this might be a release by then.

Players should honour the contracts they have, having signed them willingly. That's long gone unfortunately.

Louis Rooney will find that a long slog if ever he gets a 48 hr pass.

It's so long gone notdistant it never really existed except before transfers ahppened. Clubs get rid of players and players get rid of clubs. Managers are no more loyal than the players are if it suits either.

Purrington started the season as an understudy for Sawyer and was probably seen as a promising novice. No doubt his contract was set up with that in mind. However, Sawyer got injured and Purrington got his chance to step up and stake a claim. He did that pretty well in my book. Not the greatest player ever to grace a football pitch but he was an intrigal part of this team that has done very well so far. Along comes another club who clearly like what they have seen and make an offer for him. Do Argyle make any attempt to keep him? I'd say not and don't appear to be that bothered. In comparisson to the wages and contract he could get here the one offerred is far better. Argyle aren't prepared to get anywhere near it so who can blame Purrington for fecking off. Not me.
