Yes I know it's only Tuesday but this is for notdistant.

Well what can we say about this one that we don't know already. Exeter were soundly beaten by Argyle earlier in the season at their place when they were lounging about at the bottom of the league. Since then they have been on one of those results runs that most teams would die for. They now sit fourth and have won the last seven on the trot. This is going to be one of the hardest games for Argyle in a while and I'm not sure personally which way it will go.

Argyle have slipped away to the beach to build sandcastles in Spain. Paid for from the personal pennies of that nice Mr Brent who we adore. I have read this evening on the Argyle Official site that they haven't just gone there to play but are in the zone for their next fixture and are training hard. It's a chance for them to all fall in love with each other before Valentines Day arrives and for lifelong friendships to be forged. Well for the rest of the season anyway. Exeter on the other hand have gone to Teignmouth for an afternoon. Oh how the wealthy live and the poor people exist. What could possibly go wrong.

Touchy? Just pleased to provide a service...

I know this one is going to be hard and anything gained from it will be good news but I don't really think this is a defining game or even close to that. The others are as likely to drop points as we are in this league and as we know from the prediction league results are far from certain whoever is playing who. I just want them to win every game whoever we play.

It is now officially a sell out with the temp seats not available for paying customers- although some will be used by Argyle Community Trust. PASOTI as usual in meltdown. As disappointing as this might be, I know there have been many and lengthy meetings about this. It smells to me like a combination of H&S, D&C police, complaints from other season tickets and an official slapped wrist for selling restricted view tickets v Liverpool have conspired to make it 'all too difficult' for the club to put them on sale (otherwise I am sure they wouldn't turn down the revenue). Fundamentally, the seats were put up in such a rush that the final design was probably not the best and had they had longer a better design might have been possible. I guess this also ends the debate about whether they will be retained for the rest of the season.

Well I usually occupy a seat in the Lower Mayflower and I have been issued with a ticket for a seat in Lyndhurst which I am happy with.

I sat in the temp seats to watch the Liverpool game and couldn't see around 20% of the pitch (even when most people around me were sat down).

As for the result I suspect we will have a nervy but exciting 2-2 draw, Exeter then Argyle to take the lead but neither hold it - Taylor and Kennedy to get their first for the Greens! Rueben (with something to prove) & Wheeler for the scum.

Morning all, looking out over central park and I can confirm it is v cold. gray and dank. Snow is falling very slowly over Home Park-nothing to get excited about but travel chaos is bound to ensue. Feeling confident about this one-think the new boys will be too much for our 6 toed friends up the road.

Heavy snow this morning, literally tens of snowflakes coming down into our garden each hour.

Good day for a win. By some freakish happenstance, Doncaster only drew last night and we have a chance to put some more distance between ourselves and the team in fourth, whatever their name is.

"Running riot" comes to mind at half time with Carlisle, Portsmouth and Wycombe all losing. Let's hope the raging blizzard doesn't lead to the game being abandoned.

Kennedy and Taylor put Argyle 2-0 up.

Adams does it again with his choice of players in the window.

Carlisle losing 1-0 at H/T.....if it stays like this at F/T.....Argyle's league position will be strengthened.

A pretty impressive display by Argyle made Exeter look very ordinary as we strolled to an 11 point lead over 4th place. To be fair Exeter started the brighter and forced a couple of early corners, but Argyle grew into the game and after surviving the early minutes were fairly dominant throughout the rest of the 90. All 4 debutants made a real difference-especially Taylor and Kennedy who provided a good attacking threat. The early signs are that all four have good footballing ability and appear to be better players than those they have displaced from the starting 11-it makes the bench very strong. Kennedy opened the scoring on 14 mins with an impressive finish after some neat interplay-Derek Adams hailed it at the best goal at HP this season-not sure about that, but it was pretty good. HP was bouncing and the Exeter fans were quiet. Exeter played some half decent stuff at times but Luke hardly had a save to make in the first half. Taylor made it 2-0 just on halftime with another well taken effort and the players left for their well deserved tea and oggie to a standing ovation. A very similar pattern in the second half-Exeter huffed and puffed but never really looked like getting back into it. Reuben Reid was roundly booed at every opportunity, ran around a bit, missed an easy header and got subbed after an hour-no change there than. Argyle slowed the game, kept possession and looked good going forward. A dubious penalty made it 3-0 at the death and ended one of the least stressful derbies I can remember. Everyone played well but my MOTM went to Taylor, he got nothing from the ref but it was an excellent display of CF hold up play. The stewards saw fit to eject some Exeter fans and some of Plymouth's finest children decided to 'invade' the pitch at full time for reasons unknown.
All in all a most enjoyable afternoon. Lets just hope we don't slip up against Orient on Tuesday.

An afternoon that went well at Home Park was eventually topped off by England stuffing Wales in the last minutes at the Millennium Stadium a few sad daffodils at the end....only the Welsh could stick their face in the middle of a daffodil.....do they actually go home still wearing that ?

I've been out with her. Well, her or her twin sister.

Putting the record straight I would have taken a point before kick off today. How naive is that.

After the first 10 minutes or so I thought my prematch point was a goer. But, how wrong was I. We scored what must have looked a bit against the run of play at the time. A very very well taken goal. After we scored it I don't think Exeter looked like winning this game or staging a comeback at any point. It was no surprise when we made it two nill. The second half started more or less the same as the first. But, again we weathered the storm or what little bit of a storm Exeter could raise. I don't think anyone in a green shirt had a bad game today. That squad looked seamless from previous games and you would have thought they had been together all season. The third goal was a penalty but contrary to lyndhurst's view I could see exactly what it was for. Their keeper put in a challenge that was at least knee high with 2 feet and obviously well off the ground. He didn't make contact which was fortunate for Jervis but it was dangerous play. Had that been an out player and in the middle of the park it would have been a red. I think the Ref gave their player the benefit of the doubt as he was the keeper and it was only a yellow. The lino gave it with no hesitation. 3 - 0 and it was no fluke.

MOM for me was Taylor. I thought he was a player who will thrill the home park faithful. Never gave anything up. Won the ball in the air most of the time. Closed down and caused mayhem. Kept and laid the ball off numerous times and worked his socks more than off. Absolute master class in how to make a debut. I was impressed with all of the team today as said before. The defence controlled their forwards despite their latest scoring bonanza. They made Exeter look ordinary which they haven't been and generally are not. If anyone was watching from other teams they are going to be scared ****less by that performance. Was I impressed......go on have a guess.

Mention for the Ref and officials today. Thought overall they were excellent and probably the best we have had all season. Not because we won but because they did well.

You are entirely correct Sensible, just watched the third goal on Sky and it was a definite pen and he was lucky to stay on the pitch. Two footed, off the ground and out of control. Funny how different viewing angles give a different perspective on things....might start feeling some sympathy for refs soon.

I sit right opposite the 18 yard line so had a perfect view of this one. At first I thought the keeper had handballed outside the area but then had a discussion and think about it and the challenge itself was obvious. It was a red all day long so from thinking it was a handball red I went to a terrible challenge red. I think the Ref did bottle that one although he did well for most of the rest. Mind you I was watching the Arsenal game before I went to Argyle and that Ref bottled a red as well when Arsenal defender who was the last player by about 20 yards took a Hull player out. That one made a difference to the result where Argyle's didn't.
