I remember him seeing him playing for us at Rushden and Diamonds. Yes. That's right. I said Rushden and Diamonds- both at the same time.
Depends on what you mean by overrated. If you mean rated highly at the time they joined, and then were crap for us (Whatever else they might have done), then it is probably a tight race between Bullard, Ben Arfa, Appleby and Jamie Forrester (Hateley was already practically retired so I am not sure if anyone had real hopes he would be good for us). If it is players who were lauded by Hull fans at the time they left, but probably weren't actually that good in hindsight, then Cameron Stewart, Paul McShane or Alan Fettis (1st time round).
Eh? Forrester was very decent for us. Fettis picked up for nowt and ended up playing for his country. And less of the Hull fans please.
This question is asked every so often, and every time the majority of posts are just **** players who nobody ever actually rated. In terms of over rated by our fans, McShane in 2012-13 for me (although he later fulfilled the legendary status awarded to him by our fans, his performances that year were really exaggerated) and of course Jakupovic this year.
Matt Duke. Was a capable goalkeeper but worthy of inclusion in this thread as many fans rated him as good as, if not better than Myhill. He clearly wasn't.
David Brown. 'Big' signing from Man Utd and although being a young kid and open to improvement he went on to be a regular for ages but still stayed generally crap. Andy Brown. Less said about him the better.
David Brown was never a big signing. He was a decent finisher in a very average side for us. Scored against some of the 'big' clubs we played against in those days. Bolton away in the FL Cup being one, tennis ball game, and v Chelsea. Over rated. 1. Steve Wilson. 2. Ian Hesford. 3.Mark Hateley. 4. Trevor Philips. 5. Paul Hunter.
