Why is that players always getting blamed for downing tools?

There is no way Winning managers like Jose or Claudio down their tools?

    Especially after winning impossible titles.
Jose did that against the odds winning against Money bags Manchester teams.
He might have wanted a pay day - just like the players who will want improved contracts after accomplishing impossible tasks.
Jose called out and said he wasn't interested after Game 1 last season.

Claudio will have wanted a huge pay day - considering the MIRACLE he performed.
I say - managers down their tools as much players do!!
If Claudio is let go - I will not be surprised after all.

Fans need to recalibrate their mindset / expectations.
After all modern day managers are not like Alex or Arsene to get piece of action in everything a club does anymore.

Peanuts net spend compared to the moneybags City & Utd.

After all that - net spend (irrespective of 26 years inflation, poaching etc) is how Alex is considered greatest ever by so many morons.

so how much did Roman spend in the first few years, also ££££ did not start to spend until 2008 many years later.

UTD spent is own generated money, Chavs and ££££ have used a sugar daddy.

Few years old (2012) but look at the spend and then look who has the most success

Wait, are you saying Ferguson ISN'T the greatest manager in PL history?!
    <doh>

Because that is pretty much the accepted truth.

    If he isn't, who is?

Jose? Who never stays anywhere for more than 3 seasons, who had the league champions (us) down near the relegation zone?
    Wenger? <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

There isn't even anyone else worth mentioning for the running other than those 3.

He's posted on numerous occasions that Mourinho is the best manager in PL history. He seems to revel in his ignorance.

Jose is almost certainly number 2, because of his win percentage.
But SAF dominated the division for 20 years, built team after team of title winners and accepted no **** from his players.
The moment any sort of Prima Donna **** reared its head, they were out of the door. (See Beckham, Stam, Ronaldo).

Jose has a ways to go before he can make a legacy like that

Deidre still revels in her net spend fairy tale without realising that all it does is reinforce how incredible SAF was.

Jose inherited a squad that cost £153m (spending from 2003-04 alone).
He then spent £56m in his first season (04-06) and £92m in his second season and £15m in his third.
On his return he spent £106m (13-14), then £116m and then £101m.

The idea that he did anything "against the odds" is a mistake imo.
He sent big and won big.

The problem with Jose is that he is always accused of "buying" his trophies. While the money certainly changed Chelsea into being a serious power in European football it does nothing to change how effective Jose was as a manager. He has won everything there is to win, and has won trophies in 4 different countries. He is an annoying cock of a man but was a fantastic manager.

The trick isn't always who you bring in to your club , but how to retain the players you bought ... and that's done by wages . The last 20 seasons , the top 3 wage paying teams have won the title ... most by the top wage payers , next most by the 2nd top wage payers and the next most by the 3rd top wage payer ... all 20 titles. Leicester completely broke the mold with the 14th highest wage , it's what makes it so incredible IMO
