Being a Hull lad and having lived and worked in Dundee in the 70's my joint 2nd team was and always will be Dundee at Dens Park one week and Dundee United at Tannadice the next. Great days for me.
In my formative years I really liked how Crystal Palace had a random crack at the title (OK, a long way behind Arsenal, but still managed 3rd!) and FA Cup in the early 90s. Bit like Leicester (although Palace didn't win). Not a second team mind, I just liked a little club doing well. Thinking back, and with the aid of Google, some cracking club players in that team, Nigel Martyn, Geoff Thomas, Richard Shaw, Ian Wright, Mark Bright, Stan Collymore, John Salako, Gareth Southgate, Alan Pardew Stil, we had Leigh Jenkinson so mustn't complain.
Funny, I often feel like everybody hates Hull City. Doesn't seem like we're everybody's second team, though I did read that, because of scheduling that sees most of our games at convenient times on the West Coast, we're the most watched Premier League team in the USA. Second team for me is Liverpool. I lived there way too long to not like them. Of course, it was easier having a second team when we were a couple of divisions apart.
Ha, me too. I signed up through Tapatalk and it looks like it defaulted to that with no way to change it in the app. Need to get on the computer.
Wouldn't say I've got 'a second team', but I lived in Middlesbrough for a few years, across that period when the new stadium was built, and went to games quite often during their relative Golden Era of Juninho, Ravanelli etc, so I do always look out for Boro's results, and have quite a lot of mates who are Boro fans.
