Here we go again for another weekend of playing a team in the lower half of the league where our form has been wonderful of late. What could possibly go wrong this time.............

On the form books once again we should win this one. Whether you look at the last 5 or the last 10 matches our form is better but, even if we aren't legging it towards the finishing line like a Lyndford we are at least still limping in the right direction. It's not easy and it certainly isn't pretty but as the song goes "I don't care how you get here just get here if you can". I would think that all of the trailing clubs are beginning to feel a tad nervous. I say trailing because I think it would take more than a disaster to stop Doncaster crossing the finishing line now. It just remains to be seen if the chasing pack can maintain their form and overtake us and Portsmouth. If results went the right way this weekend the next match, also away could be a decider for second place. Wouldn't that be a cracking match.

But we have to get past this weekend first ourselves before we can even begin to think of the next one. Crawley used to be managed by one of my favourite managers (not) but I have no excuse to dislike them now. Lets hope they don't give me an excuse this weekend.

This will be a Saturday when I'll not know the result until gone 9pm......we will be letting the train take the strain.....and be having a day out down Broadstairs.....not having an all singing and dancing iphone type thing......I will be locked away in a peaceful day of just enjoying the walk along to Ramsgate....having a meal at the Old Harbour Restaurant....and then walking back to Broadstairs......according to the tide this walk could be done along the beach or the coastal path.

Diagonally across Kent from corner to corner it is about 75 miles each way (far further than Brighton & Hastings....50ish miles).....when we where younger we would take the car....but the two lane M2 is a nightmare of big lorries powering down to the channel crossings and you've still got 20 miles from Thanet onwards to negotiate.....nothing like being push along by truckers......Mrs Plym likes a nice 45/50 mph ride.....that would be hell with lorries clawing their way past you all the time....no thank you....I haven't lived to this age by doing that regularly.

I feel that the players will go there itching to perform better - I can see things being more smooth and our away form to continue to hold.

    2-0 Carey and Jervis

I assume Derek will employ the same 11 from Accrington's visit but with Taylor replacing Spencer.

If the pub has radio contact with the rest of the world you could ask them to get you the score line in advance of 9pm plym. What you do is ask them to tell you if Argyle won. If they don't come back then you know it's not good news.

As for the team line up I'm never quite sure who is likely to be playing and who isn't. The teams are quite unpredictable results wise at times. One minute a certain squad can do no wrong and the next they blow very cold and lose unexpectedly. He then changes a few things around and hey presto......repeat as before. I don't care who plays as long as the score is the right one.

I'm afraid the Old Harbour Restaurant ain't a Pub.....it used to be the Harbour Masters office....with the local Council meeting upstairs.

Will Tanner be sidelined once more.....coming off the bench he could be useful.

Looking forward to this one-oddly it s our(me and No2) first away day of the season (apart from Liverpool). Hoping for a trouble free journey up the A303, a comfortable 3-0 win and a rapid journey home in the knowledge that we are only a couple of points short of promotion.

Have a good day out lyndhurst and watch out for the Druids across that Stonehenge place. It's gonna be sunny and you never know when the sun is involved if one of them is going to pop up somewhere.

Halftime and one down. Darn it but it could have been worse. Stevenage are four down having helped Colchester to two of them by scoring for them. Still 10 points in it to 4th place. I can't see Stevenage coming back from 4 so it should end that way today at worst.

Well I wasn't expecting that. 94th minute. "Are we Exeter in disguise". I was watching the things unfold on the Sky Sports News. First the equaliser via a penalty. Then them down to 10 men following a second yellow. Then, just when I was waiting for the final whistle to go and the result to come up on their teleprinter it came up 1 - 2. Well shocked. Chuffed to bits but shocked. At one stage today our result didn't particularly matter. Nobody winning in the top 3 and Stevenage were 4 down. Then Doncaster went one up and Portsmouth were winning along with Luton. I thought suddenly it was turning into a bad day at the office. Need not worry though we were away from home. Excellent result in the end and one less game to go. All we need is one win and a draw out of 5 and it's guaranteed.

Just got home from the seaside (haven't put my bucket & spade away yet).....wall to wall sunshine all day...not the hint of a cloud.

.....and the icing on the cake...3 more points from Argyle....but don't they make us suffer for it..

Portsmouth doesn't really matter....but something from it would be nice.

Could get promoted next week....but we need to be wary of Newport...3pts at Exeter today.

Just back from a sunny Crawley. Long journey up (5 hours) due to hold ups on the A303, M25 and M23. Friendly staff at Crawley and best seats in the house. Tremendous turn out by the Green Army. Not the best game of football in the world, slightly dodgy defending for their goal, a nailed on penalty for us and a really good goal for the winner. Crawley fans didn't like the sending off- it was right in front of us and a blatant elbow. Not sure why it was a second yellow -think it should have been a straight red. Slightly odd that Tanner the second half substitute, was himself substituted. It worked though and it is nearly all over. Think we will clinch it at Fratton park on friday, if not there is always Monday at a fullish home park. best thing was it only took 3.5 hours to get back<whistle>.

Don't be silly Lyndhurst Monday is at home and Newport........

It does make the Pompey match a bit of a tasty game though. I shall watch that one from the comfort of my Club chair with a pint in hand.
