Intellectual in peace

I sincerely trust this season finds you well. What I don't understand about Newcastle is how I used to point out methodically and politely what Newcastle were doing wrong and got ripped for it on 606.

It was obvious to all that NUFC were going to do a Leeds United unless someone stepped in and sorted out the unsustainable debt that had been racked up by Kev Keegan in a desperate bid to satisfy the thirst for the sweet nectar of silverware of the NUFC fans, this is what MA did and I was a lone voice on the 606 Newcastle board supporting him at the time when everybody else was listening to, and being seduced by, KK's promises of signing Henry, Lampard & Beckham (and before you brand this 'a rumour I made up', Google it, it was all over the News of the World when it happened and I don’t remember the notoriously litigious suing so it's obviously true.)

I also said you should give the ball to your players out wide because you have Gutierrez there and he's better than Tiote and now you've listened and will begin to do well because of it.

What I don't understand is why you seemed to completely abandon your previously stated commitment to finishing 17th last season and were saying we're doing well, obviously this will totally continue and we should qualify for Europe'. May I remind you that Blackpool started well, but were eventually relegated? Remember when Hull won their first few games and then ended up going down? I don't think you should get too carried away which is another thing that I said on 606.

The desire to ascribe a whole seasonal narrative to a team based on the first few results also infected your opinions on Everton, who you described as 'relegation contenders' even though we've finished in the top 7 five years in a row? Please explain to me how that works, at the start of the campaign I predicted us to finish between 8th-10th and was pleasantly surprised when we finished 7th whereas NUFC “fans” hoped for 17th last season, yet complained when you finished 12th.

No doubt this year will “be your year” to challenge for Champions league qualification based on the fact that you have had one decent result against a team in the Champions League.

    Oh ****ing brilliant!

FMA has done well with the club financially but he doesn't give a sod about the fans and the club.

Guti is not better than Tiote - Tiote had an off day.

The **** has posted this on the Hereford board so it can't be moderated. This should strengthen TLGs campaign, the Hereford board is desperate for a Mod.

"Intellectual in peace" still makes me chuckle.

Not that intellectual really because if you cared to do some research you would find that Hull stayed up that season at the expense of us!

Also, I was overjoyed to finish 12th and was very pleased that only 1 goal and some sloppy defending on that final day separated us from 9th place!

hahahahahahaha Welcome back, if that really is you. This is going to be fun...

"It was obvious to all that NUFC were going to do a Leeds United unless someone stepped in and sorted out the unsustainable debt that had been racked up by Kev Keegan in a desperate bid to satisfy the thirst for the sweet nectar of silverware of the NUFC fans, this is what MA did and I was a lone voice on the 606 Newcastle board supporting him at the time when everybody else was listening to, and being seduced by, KK's promises of signing Henry, Lampard & Beckham (and before you brand this 'a rumour I made up', Google it, it was all over the News of the World when it happened and I don’t remember the notoriously litigious suing so it's obviously true.)"

<<< Of course, the papers never lie! What an absurd suggestion, who would possibly think like that! Keegan really did say that. (may contain traces of sarcasm) - try harder 2/10

"I also said you should give the ball to your players out wide because you have Gutierrez there and he's better than Tiote and now you've listened and will begin to do well because of it. "

<<<<< I could have sworn you slagged Jonas for his lack of end-product, but hey ho, if that's what you now claim

"What I don't understand is why you seemed to completely abandon your previously stated commitment to finishing 17th last season and were saying we're doing well, obviously this will totally continue and we should qualify for Europe'. May I remind you that Blackpool started well, but were eventually relegated? Remember when Hull won their first few games and then ended up going down? I don't think you should get too carried away which is another thing that I said on 606."

<<<<<<< Perhaps if we had a striker for the second half of the season? Nah, couldn't be anything to do with it, surely.

"The desire to ascribe a whole seasonal narrative to a team based on the first few results also infected your opinions on Everton, who you described as 'relegation contenders' even though we've finished in the top 7 five years in a row? Please explain to me how that works, at the start of the campaign I predicted us to finish between 8th-10th and was pleasantly surprised when we finished 7th whereas NUFC “fans” hoped for 17th last season, yet complained when you finished 12th. "

<<< Finally admitted the DMW link. Said you were lying. HA - Would you care to add substance to the claim that those fans did that? I'm certain they (including myself) were happy with survival, as we had said all season. Still think we could of done better if we kept Carroll though. Does that sound unreasonable to you then? Do teams not need strikers, does that not affect their game? The vast majority were happy with our finish, but felt the last game could have gone better and it would have been nice to beat the mackems and claim a top tem finnish when we were 3 goals up.

"No doubt this year will “be your year” to challenge for Champions league qualification based on the fact that you have had one decent result against a team in the Champions League."

<<<< are you sure most of us are not just happy with steady progression, a LB and a Striker? Seems to be the case to me.

So what prompted you to return? Your own fans worked out that your're DMW and hounded you off your own board again?

Welcome back anyway. Kind of missed picking your efforts apart so easily, esp when you take so much time over your nonsense! This has been a pleasant warm up. <ok>
