I have to agree with you sensible. oliver colville was a stereotypical 'old style tory' and although I have voted for him for the last few campaigns, and clearly I wanted him to win, I am not sure he will be missed so much. Oddly, and it might be because of the the tucked away bit of Peverell where we live, but I haven't had a single knock on the door by anyone wanting my vote. Daily e-mails from the conservatives have been it. Delighted for Johnny Mercer though, met him a few times (through work-both my old job and new) and he is a thoroughly decent chap-and of course is very active for Veterans.

Very low level election this year.....hardly anything through the door.....not like previous times......when visiting the polling station I saw for the first time that there was a Green party candidate on the ballot form......ps...didn't do very well believe it or not.

Yet voting was high....Boris's little brother....Joe Johnson (con) 31,762....majority of 19,461.....doesn't look anything like his father or brother....(luckily).

Just to ruin the lighthearted tone that's started to pervade this thread, it's reported in the Sunday Times that Airbus have stated that the wings for airliners beyond those in production now won't be manufactured in the UK unless "non-negotiable" conditions are met by the Brexit deal:

    1) there is free movement for Airbus workers across Europe
    2) there are no tariff or customs barriers to the movement of components
    3) EU regulatory standards apply in the UK - it's not clear which ones.

France and Germany have long coveted this work, which employs 10,000 people directly and is a standard bearer for hi-tech manufacturing in the UK.

Glad to see that Michael Gove is now in the Cabinet.....will give Theresa May sound advice regarding brexit negotiations....a genuine brexiteer....not like Boris who goes with what is best for him at the time.....sitting around the cabinet table with Boris will be interesting.

Remember Gove saved us from the horror of Boris going for the PM job....BUT... Boris is now saying that he is behind Theresa being PM.....oh yea...watch this space.

Truth is he stabbed Boris in the back when he wasn't looking and he might keep Boris in check now is more likely why he got a job again. None of it will last. It's being held together by very flimsy sticky back plastic and when the first sign of a rainy day arrives it will fall apart. Oh and Gove is a slimy barsteward.

He's still a slimy barsteward. I remember watching a TV production some years ago which has been revived since called the House of Cards and another one called Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister. Even though the second and third were comedies boy were they spot on. The House of Cards was so spot on you would think it was written by an MP for sure. MP or politics in general must be the most outrageously corrupt and back stabbing profession ever invented. Put a fox in a hen house and instinctively it kills everything else in there that moves. It just can't help itself and that is what MPs are like with each other. Even if it means killing themselves at the same time.
