Happy Fathers Day to one and all! It's your special day to chill out, relax and don't lift a finger, (not applicable obviously to Sir Ben and Lincoln Tiger), pretty much a normal day, like everyday, for some??!! Special thoughts also for loved ones no longer with us.
Just had a text from Dear Daughter. I'm to be whisked up the Northumbrian coast to a secret destination for a surprise picnic. Lovely day for it.
Happy Fathers Day to all of you that have successfully put sperm into a lady I'm taking Tigresses advice and am starting the day with a glass of scotch (Jura Superstition) and smoking a Cuban cigar (Montecristo Open Regatta) ...and relax
There is literally nothing better than a scotch and Cuban cigar breakfast It's my summery Sunday morning treat to myself
Too right. I'm a bit lobsteresque from an afternoon in the hammock yesterday. Slip, slop, slap; that's the Shackleton way.
...I'm also listening to jazz (Miles Davis and now Nina Simone) Mrs Tash has gone to her Dad's. I offered to go but was told to stay here in the garden with the dogs. So I'm home alone apart from the dogs, the scotch and the cigars. Had lovely messages from the kids (and it's the first Fathers Day that I'm a Grandad too) Life is pretty much perfect
Sunday unfortunately is the first day of the working week here. So normal day at work form me. Lifes a bugger sometimes. Have a great day with your cigars and bloody picnics. You lucky bastards.
You got me thinking about my time in Saudi with that. The weekend used to be Thu and Fri when I was there. A quick google tells me they changed a few years ago to the Fri and Sat weekend to bring them in line with the rest of the middle east. As my other half just walked out the door she told me to do the vacuuming, I really need to get her up to speed with British traditions.
Yep you are correct, it is Friday Saturday for the weekend. I can cause havoc with working with other countries. with 3 days from 7 at opposite weekends. Fri, Sat Sun, no overlap. Works in my favour sometimes.
No.1 daughter's doing me a Fathers Day BBQ. Even bought a new BBQ for the occasion apparently, four gas rings, who needs four gas rings on a BBQ?
I did 3 and half in Saudi Balkan... Dhaaaran, Jeddah and finally Riyadh... I miss Jeddah, it was a great place... before the days of internet and we had to wait until Monday to see football results in the papers or spend a fortune calling home to check..
It just gets better Mrs Tash arrived back from her Dad's, took one look at me sat in the sun with my cigar and scotch ... rolled her eyes...and then uttered the most beautiful words in the English language...'do you want a fry up then?'
Followed by those immortal words .."well, do it your bloody self"??? Are you still waiting Den, enjoy!!
Girls and grandkids coming over here. I'm doing a BBQ. Already done a tip run and got some mud and bedding plants for the planter I made the eldest leech yesterday. Too hot to do **** all for a bit. Lambo, gonna start a new thread re: Gas "BBQ". FFS.
G&T now Just saying (Tanquerey Rangpur for the gin experts on here. Not my favourite to be honest, prefer original T but thought I'd help out by using it up)
