yeah, this ain't gonna save them, it'll be like in 2014 when they had the Merc PU and were beaten by the Renault powered RBR. Without the proprietary fuel and oils it'll be running .5 down.

This is where the new powers that be really have to step in and help the smaller teams IMHO .

WE cannot let them go to the wall ,we simply cannot . Look at poor manor .

I get it that historically teams have folded , but I can't see anyone stepping in these days .

I like to believe that have a strong plan in place , I knew they would struggle this year , but I am still optimistic , time for Massa to go though . Stroll , if he does not improve over the next 4 -5 races after Canada , should go as well .

yeah, I wonder where Williams would be with someone else at the wheel, that car could have between .5 and a full second left in it.

Claire Williams has denied it on sky .

Thing is though , what if Honda have proof they are on the right track ? It's all crazy . I mean , if Honda have assured Williams they will succeed , and they sponsor the team , they won't need strolls money . My biggest concern is that , due to their very proud culture , the idea of getting outside help , really hinders Honda .

Surely Honda reassurances aren't worth the paper they're written on right now?

The only way I can see anyone new taking Honda engines is if Honda are contractually obliged to make up any funding shortfalls from poor results (ie prize money and sponsorship), and that could get very expensive.

I agree , I am just clutching at straws , because the alternative does not bear thinking about as a Williams fan .

Sainz appears to have elevated himself above Vergne and Buemi, and joined the likes of Grosjean, Perez and Hulk as stable midfield options who could probably do a job in a better car.

Are Red Bull in any rush to let him go though? Ricciardo or Verstappen could easily be tempted away this winter, and it's not like there's any serious RB prospects crying out for a TR seat either - and Kvyat is much more disposable there you'd think.
