Did you have a piss in it while diving?

Best. Feeling. Ever. (if the water's cold).

I have never felt the need. I know plenty of people do, but not even a fart either.

I once dived with a female guide, who told me not to get behind her at the start of the dive as she always pisses within the first five minutes. Saw plenty of fish that dive!

Off to Maine and Quebec City next week. Quebec is France Lite, and the locals are nice.

You may well find that you have two formal nights. Dinner suits etc. To be honest, I enjoy them. Plenty of people dont, but it does make a cruise sort of special. I wear a tux and bow tie, but my Brother in Law just puts on a dark suit.
The best way to put this is that you are on a cruise with possibly 4k passengers. You will find that you can do what you want. Smart casual is the norm for the resturants, but on our next cruise we will use the buffet and not the resturants, but I know that we will regret not doing any of them.

When you find your missus checking out evening dresses before you go, you will know if you going formal or not. Besides, there is no luggage allowance.

Can you wear shorts in the restaurants and what's the difference between the restaurants and the buffet?

    No shorts in the resturants.
The buffet is open round the clock and you go in and help yourself.
The resturants are waiter service and there are generally two sittings or you can have flex dining where you go in at anytime during the evening, to suit yourself, this generally costs more.

On the cruises that I have done, the food was fantastic. It was worth dressing up for.

    Cheers mate.

I need to get my finger out and actually find this stuff out for myself.

Her indoors has informed me we eat at 7 every night so it looks like we're booked into the restaurants.

    Best buy some slacks.

    Farah will do.

Been around that neck of the woods before, interesting part of the world.

Did some 'walking' ,as it was sold to, me in the Picos De Europas.

It was hard graft but very enjoyable.

One of the 'activities' was climbing to the base of the Naranjo de Bulnes, which took a full day of ascending.

The more proficient climbers then had a go at climbing the actual face.

Balls to that, I rehydrated, refuelled and got my head down for the night.

A French climber actually fell from the face and pegged it whilst we were up on the mountain, a helicopter had to fly in and take the body away.

Bit surreal looking back on it.

    Nice one.

    <laugh> you sound like me.
She books it, sorts all the paperwork out, tells me how much my half costs.
I leave her to do the cases.
She gains though cause I pay for just about everything on the actual holiday.
    It works for us.

Hopefully (if I get a job soon) we can squeeze a last-minute cruise in in September. Dirt cheap if you book with a week to go.

    Consider zip off convertibles.

    Best of both worlds.

Spend the daytime in cool comfort then zip on the bottom halves when the evening gets going and the going gets formal.

You can choose to eat in the buffet restaurants on any night. You don't have to tell your restaurant you aren't turning up.
    Enjoy mate

Cheers pal, I'm sure I will.

Did you have an inside or outside cabin when you cruised?

Aren't those get ups for camping Ern?

I was hoping to look more like David Niven than Steve Irwin.

    Got'cha.

Well the convertible cut offs ain't gonna season the soup then.

Have you time to fashion a pencil mustache?

Brush down the red velvet dinner jacket?

    Learn to tie a cravat?

Probably best to keep your hands off any Royals who are cruising aboard your floating gaff mind.

I have a rather fetching Crombie suit and a pair of equally stylish Loakes brogues.

The bangers and mash is trimmed to perfection.

    I'll be reet.

That really is a shame, that sounds like a fantastic trip. Was last in Cathedral Grove in 92 I think, unbelievable, can't wait to take my kids (it is a forest of 800+ year old trees which are humongous for those interested). My cousin owns a bike shop right at Butchart Gardens, been there a few times, love the Japanese garden. Tofino, wow, so tranquil, we were looking at getting married there one day, my cousin from Salmon Arm got married on the beach there. Driven through Armstrong, but never stopped, not far away at all.
