Yep Ken Dodd is amazing Seen all of those guys I also saw Les Dawson at Brid. Saw Seth Armstrong (Stan Richards) at Blue Heaven He was very funny great night. I saw quite a few at the Birkholme Country Club near preston. I saw Lyne Perry there Ivy from Corrie she was quite funny. She was dancing on the tables. Ken Dodd Ya need a full night when ya see him. What a guy.
Some of the things he's said over the years border on genius. Like when discussing the FBI witness protection programme he asked instead of having to start his life again in a new place with a new identity, new hair and lose contact with his friends and family, couldn't he instead have a new identity, hair etc in court then just go back to living his life as normal. It would save millions.
I'm off the radar here, Billy Connolly by all means as for the other, pass, but give me Dave Allen, Les Dawson, Mick Miller, Barry Crier, Mel Brooks, Roger Dangerfield, Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers
Nearly forgot, not a comedian as such but such a funny man, a comedy scriptwriter, check him out on Michael Parkinson, Eddie Braben.
The late, great Peter Cook. And Tommy Cooper live took, some beating. Anyone old enough to be around at the time will appreciate this classic.
Some of you ****s seem to be confusing "well I don't like them" with them being good at what they do. If loads of other people enjoy what they do, and they themselves do well out of it, they're clearly good at it. Anyhoo. Rowan Atkinson. Rik Mayall Ade Edmondson Peter Kaye PLT All people that make me laugh.
Why is this an argument? It's more often than not that the very ****test in life is also the most popular. I already referenced Shakey, Westlife and Cliff and look at Mrs Brown's ****ing ****s for God's sake.
It's the old "your opinion" versus "a statement of fact" scenario aint it? Just because YOU think something is ****, does not mean it is, in fact, ****. It's quite simple.
I didn't say that at all, I'm fully aware my opinion differs from the majority and I 100% like it that way. But we weren't talking about that - I questioned why if something is popular then it automatically follows that it's good?
- Billy Connelly - John Cleese - Ronnie Barker/Ronnie Corbett - Dave Allen - Rowan Atkinson ancient: - Buster Keaton - Spike Milligan - Peter Sellers - Tommy Cooper - Kenneth Horne - Les Dawson - Peter Cooke/Dudley Moore
Kevin Bridges is funny , I read his book on an aeroplane and got several funny looks because I couldn't help laughing out loud
Fair point. Also, the conversation above has reminded me about that Mrs Browns Boys twat, so I'd like to amend my comment of 'one of the least funny, but not actually the worst'...
