He was meant to be. They (The BBC I think) gave him his own sketch show and pulled it after two weeks. It was cringe.

    What is he?

    What does he do?

I know who he is but honestly can't work out why he's famous.

Wilmot could be in with a shout for one, him and Bill Oddie.

FFS just googled Oddie and he's already got an OBE.

    Charity work.

He made a fortune writing lyrics for Starlight Express and Phantom of the Opera for Andrew Lloyd Webber and gave loads of it away.

Gary wilmots dad sang the line, Iam a mole and I live in a hole. Factoid.

I'll stake my life I saw Gary wilmot as a bar man in a chaplins in Spain early 80's.
Did a very good frank spencer...

Bob .Newhart. Remember the old man crying with laughter listening to him.
Doddy seen him loads of times.
    Les Dawson too.
Stewart Francis, great one liner comedian.
Also saw stu Francis with les Dawson. Crush a grape.
John dowie was one of the best stand ups I saw in the 80's at spring st. Ken and brenda haven't got a video...
Tim Vine, can't help laughing at him. I said to the one armed waiter, you can take it but you can't dish it out...
Frank skinner. Great comedian and brill on absolute on a Saturday morning.

I think Tim Vine's underrated, a lot of those one-liners are very clever.
