I never suggested we should sell him cheap, I think the price we're asking (assuming the price mentioned is correct) is perfectly reasonable.
My biggest concern is not how many go, but when they go,the nearer the start of the season the bigger the disruption, if we lose as many as expected then the warm weather training camp could turn out to be a bit of a farce, because all we will have done is get players ready for the coming season for other clubs.
Why didn't anyone think of selling our **** long-contracted well-paid players sooner? We could've got £3m for Simon Walton.
Here's something I've been thinking, it's a tad controversial and I'm sure most won't agree but hey ho. Even with the Allams ****ing about last summer, were they to blame? Had the players we brought in last summer been a success and not a complete failure (apart from maybe Mason), we'd still be a PL team. What does everyone think?
We brought in a keeper we didn't need, spent almost all our transfer budget on a player who got injured (couldn't plan for that one obviously), two punts on Man United kids and two loans who barely played. Despite a guaranteed £120m odd, we had a net spend of £12.5m, what ever way you spin it, it was appalling for a club newly promoted to the Premier League.
Mason was a failure too. Not his or anybody else's fault and of course nobody can legislate for that kind of injury, but it meant signing him for last season was a failure. It's an interesting point - how often do teams get promoted to the Prem and not strengthen their first XI in any way over the summer? You could also argue we didn't strengthen in the winter under Marco, and ibstead all he signed was 'options' that we didn't previously have. Who did well? Turbo was largely poor, Markovic was massively hot and cold, N'Diaye was only ok, Evandro added little, the full-back was so insignificant I can't even remember his name... Niasse probably made the biggest impact and I wouldn't call him a success.
Because he's ****e. He'd be good for us in this league mind if we could get him, fee wise I don't think it should be a problem, but I have a feeling he deems himself far better than he actually is.
