Bizarrely, the parking meters don't take coppers, so you can't actually pay that amount.

It looks like a derelict swimming pool.
Much better shape and size and the surrounding landscaping is a lot better. The whole thing has higher quality materials and a great finish, it just looks swimming pool ish - the stones for the side walls, and those lights look like water jets.

Should use it to run over the homeless.

That was a joke, albeit not a very funny one.

I think this is on the wrong thread, in fact it should be on a 'denial of access to the public realm' thread, but apparently the Allams have built their gate to keep terrorists out...you know, the one they don't have planning permission for because they never applied for it in the end
I can't really make it out to be honest, and maybe it isn't, but it looks like they've built it, but left it in the open position for now?

To me it seems a ploy to close the whole bridge entrance off when theres not a match day

How does it remotely stop terrorists?
Theres a gaping wide entrance from walton and anlaby roads:s
The gate is what half a mile from the kc

Itd be like the buckingham palace guards all stationed half a mile up that red road, i forgot itd name

It's under advice from the security services, to prevent someone from planting an explosive device on non-monitored waste ground adjacent to a football stadium apparently.

It seems the same advice is given to all large stadiums, regardless of the perceived threat and ignores the fact that it's unlikely to deter anyone intent on planting one anyway.

    Ridiculous advice.
But why couldn't Ehab communicate that? Doesn't help his cause does he (or clearly doesn't give a ****).

I think we've got bigger things to worry about than a security gate ...
