Thanks for the reminder. I thought it was tomorrow night. Another sleepless night then. Let's hope they make it worthwhile.

Hopefully not like last year then. I know we can't take too much out of pre season because its more about fitness but we should beat any US team.

Does seem an odd team to play. However, we could be playing Haverfordwest County or Fishguard in pre season like in the good old days.

Tammy looks really good, he has a tremendous burst of speed and i think we have a good one here for a season.....But and a massive but.....We look wanting at the back again, That is 3 pre-season games now that we were poor and if Clem dont bring in new defenders then we are going to struggle to win games we should be winning especially at home.....We should save our money on another forward until we sort our defense out, and anyway we only play one up front so if we buy Bony and his high wages then which of the 3 do we play. Llorente,Tammy or Bony......Two of them will either be on the bench or not included at all and that is a hell of a lot of top money being paid out every week and not playing.......We have to improve our defense that is so obvious to see....

Thought we looked pretty solid at the back and good for a clean sheet until Fernandez happened to us AGAIN.

He was only on the pitch less than 2 minutes this time before he destroyed us. Within 115seconds he missed two interception or 'cut out' opportunities, conceded a corner because of that and then pulled out of a challenge which should have been instinctive for any CB to make in the 6yd box.

To stop their goal all Fernandez had to do was to take one step forward and jump, a reflex action surely? to jump for a ball in his own 6yd box and defend his keeper and his goal. Isn't that what he's paid to do or am I missing something?

Have a look at their goal and tell me that Fernandez didn't wimp out and take a step back instead of attacking the ball and defending the situation.

Time's up for Fernandez, has to be, no time for sentiment, he is costing us goals and he's letting his team mates down. Unless we sign another CB our starters must be Mawson, looks solid, Bartley, has impressed me with VDH on the bench, he's done nothing wrong either and Fernandez can go sell burgers from a van in the car park out side Home base for all I care. I'd be happy to give him away to whatever team wants him.

Everyone else looked OK but I'm slightly disappointed with Narsingh, I think he should be showing more than he is. Grimes and McBernie are works in progress and both need to go out on loan again. Fulton looks solid and reliable and Carroll looks nippy.

Abraham could be an exciting for us but I hope he doesn't try too hard and just lets his game come naturally. If he does I can see 10+ goals from him.

I liked the look of Kingsley too, strong and assured and reminded me of a chunky version of our Ben. Better in defence than Olsson who is better in attack so I'm sure we'll see a lot of the both of them.

Roque, looks like a Jack hero in the making, cool calm and collected.

Not going to mention everyone but I'll give us 6.5/10 and I'm happy with that right now, with or without Siggy

As much as you don't like him Fernandez is going nowhere and he will start more games than he doesn't. Even if we do sign a starter then Fernandez will be the cover. PC likes him, can guarantee he will play him Unless Bartley shows up, but for me his mind wanders and is to easily out of position. Lets wait and see. I am with Da on this we need another centre half and for me it is a very important signing. Short of Mawson, our other 3 wouldn't get into any other PL side s starting 11. Just my opinion of course.

VDH and Fernandez are not good enough. Bartley at least deserves another opportunity given his exploits in the championship last season.

We should sell the other two, sign a top defender to come straight into the team and another solid back up.

I am not convinced about Bartley, we have seen him at PL level and he wasn't good enough, He did have a good season with Leeds as he did in the Championship with Birmingham, but he just doesn't seem to be good enough for the PL each time he comes back to Pl clubs after good spells at Championship sides he just doesn't seem to be able to make the step up. I want him to be good enough as I see glimpses, but at 26 not convinced glimpses is enough. Would sort of be happy with him being the cover, but for me he isn't a starter.

I'd sooner give Keston Davies the chance to partner Mawson before Fernandez but lucky for the Argentinian our U23s CB and Captain has just gone on loan to Yeovil. I know I'm in the minority, but Bartley has to start along side Mawson whether PC likes Fernandez or not. Its the right thing to do, its the only thing to do if we don't buy another CB.

More than a CB we need another specialist RB. We have to assume Naughtons hamstring is going to go or at least require treatment and a few weeks off at some point in the season. He's a high injury risk now, next to Monterro.

When that happens that leaves us with Rangel. Unfortunately, our very own Arch Angel, just doesn't have it in him any more to leg it up and down the pitch for 90 mins. Maybe for one whole game if we're lucky but not for consecutive games over a period of weeks while Naughton is recovering. It wont be long before he breaks down tpp and that leaves us with an other, hopefully not Fer.

Fer's problem is he's not quick enough to be effective in our system. If he runs forward he's got no speed to get back and we don't have winger with any defensive savvy to cover for him. As all this is happening on the right this puts added pressure on Fernandez who isn't quick enough to cover CB and the RB positions. That's where Ash was so effective and so important to our defence. Where ever he was needed he'd be there.

I don't need to leave anything to your imaginations, but just remember the shambles we became, again, when we lost both RB's last season. for six games we played without a fit or specialist RB and those six games dragged us back into the relegation zone after we'd bravely fought our way our.

So far this summer, we are in the exact same position as we were last season. We have a visible and glaring crack in our defence and if we're not careful this season it could tear and open into a gaping hole. It was hard enough getting out of it last year, I don't want to have to try again just because we were to mean, dumb, stupid, what ever to sign a player we desperately needed.
