Afternoon Everyone. As I look out at the stormy and miserable weather I find my self wondering in retrospect why I decided not to continue my work abroad - then I realised it was to be at Home Park for the mighty greens rise up the leagues! Only a friendly I know but Cardiff are a good side who have invested heavily to improve their squad. It has been a while but I felt like putting down a likely line up so here goes: McCormick Threlkeld, Edwards, Songo'o (Bradley if fit), Sawyer Fox, Sarcevic Carey, Lameiras, Grant Jervis (or try Fletcher)?
Hope Cardiff put out a strong side as will be interesting how Argyle perform against much stronger opposition. Some good teams in div.1 this season.
To Homepark Hobo How about entering our Prediction League run by Greenarmy Joe. We would welcome your input.
You have to take part Hobo in the prediction league, its a legal thing if you post on here. come join us and you won't be any worse than us..
Hi folks arrived back from my Saga tour (ok Joe)....0-0 at half time from what I've read Carey's being treated roughly...he'll probably get a lot of that this coming season.
Decent work out. Cardiff a bit physical for a PSF. Sun came out. Next match is a real one in L1. Having seen all the PSFs bar one I think we will be fine in L1. If I was allowed to bet I wouldn't mind an outside each way bet on us for promotion.
Just got home from the match. Well from the bar really but went to the game. I thought this was a real friendly in the first half with hardly a challenge or tackle or shot on goal for the 45 minutes. Second half we change to what I figure was the second 11 and it did get a bit more spicey occasionally. If this was a real game and not a friendly I think the cards would have been brought out a couple of times. It was still a bit of a strange game but clearly the first 11 are better than the second 11. The one goal was a bit bizaar. The Ref gave a free kick for something I'm not sure what against our player. They just took it quickly putting their man through on goal and he slotted it home. 1 - 0 to the Ref I think. iAnyway, I learned nothing very much from this game. Lameraise looked ok and one or two others. We passed it around a lot in the first half and were allowed to so not sure how good the passing was. I think we missed a couple of sitters which didn't look good. The beer was good in the club after.
To be fair sensible Bradley went down and didn't get back up quickly enough for my liking - it left a big hole in our defence and you can not do that against decent opposition. You are right about some of the tackles, there were some cynical ones and I suspect there would have been some cards in a competitive game. I thought the passing was excellent, we are just missing the man up top to make the most of them. Blissett had a headed chance that I was surprised he missed (good cross from Wylde I must say).
