Noticed in the past that sometimes we have discussions about other sports (other than Football and that don't have their own pages) in threads pertaining to something Football or non-sport related, ie Boxing in the TV thread or Athletics in the Premier League thread. Thought we needed a thread dedicated to all those Sports that don't have their own discussion page. Feel free to discuss any Sports in here that aren't Football.
A real shame but at least it will highlight just how angry people are allowing this guy to compete again, it's a joke to be honest. Bolt will be remembered for decades to come as that 9.58 won't be touched
Just watching the news, Gatlin is 35! Alarm bells ringing for me already, that's some age to be winning the world championship?
Exactly, Bolt is 30 already showing signs of ageing and is frankly the greatest ever sprinter. Yet at 35 Gatlin has just beaten a field years younger than him....
The thing I thought about Gatlin was it's worth something, not exactly celebration, but the guy did his time and straightened out, so is an example of winning without doping even at the ripe old age of 35. That's a better lesson than just "Whatever you do, don't get caught." I get why people want lifetime bans but it's a bit like executing murderers to stop murder: it just doesn't work. Anyway, I used to play baseball back in the 90s. Proper hardball, affiliated to MLB. Edinburgh were Scottish champions two years running, thank you very much. It's not rounders, which has stupid rules nobody really knows. A baseball diamond has mathematically perfect dimensions to produce the highest number of close calls. It's an acquired taste but a rewarding watch. And a simple game of catch becomes something very cool and pleasing with a big baseball mitt on your hand.
