Dust yourselves down and move on. It's more important to get a good foothold in League 1

Cups are a distraction. We are never going to win any of them so hence the "I'm not interested move on" type post. Can earn a few quid if you get the right draw but that's about it.

Well we beat City by having 9 changes to their 6......and it showed.....were they really good or were we really bad....maybe Lyndy can give us an inkling when he gets back.
Oscar Threlkeld came on for the second half and went off injured not long after....lets hope it isn't serious....with Taylor on crutches at the moment we just don't need more injured players.....with Jamie Ness a non-starter since joining us we need some good luck after tonights result.

To a team in league one plym they might as well all be sponsored by mickey mouse. We aren't going to win them and as said already the best you could hope for is a decent draw to earn a few quid aka FA Cup last season versus Liverpool. They are not important whether they are proper cups or not.

They were very good, we weren't. Oscar looked in real pain but hopefully it will be a short term thing. Cracking stadium. Huge gulf between Championship and L1. Back to the real business on Saturday!

Just been looking at the GoS pictures of Ashton Gate.....what a magnificent ground they've got there.....and maybe a team worthy of it.
The best thing we can do is to try and erase that "reserve" team result from our memories.....seemed to be a load of individuals... listening to the GoS goal recordings....too much space given to City players to get their shots off.....although the 4th goal seemed to be poor goalkeeping from the commentary.

I am more concerned how Div 2 Barnet went to Peterborough and beat them 3-1......the Posh weren't playing nine reserve players either. We seem to be picking up injuries very soon....we cannot afford to have Threlkeld out for to long...he is a main man in our first team plans.....no forward power at all last night.....BBC stats said we had no shots at all....but I question that.....they're didn't seem to be any fouls either ?

Dismal performance as should have tried at least, was like an extra pre season friendly thrown away. Feel sorry for those that went.

Derek Adams admits he got it wrong last night....although the team didn't perform either.....to many attacking players in his side he admitted....poor defending plus some good goals didn't ever allow his "attacking" players to get on their front foot....result disaster.....at least next Saturdays team will be completely different against Charlton....Adams is dead keen to do well at home.....lets hope it happens....another defeat against the team that just managed to win at Exeter last night 2-1 would definitely leave scars.

For once, I guess this one is down to Adams.

Firstly, a desire to give players who didn't start on Saturday a run out. Understandable, but we've been caught out badly by good opposition.

Secondly, an attempt to fit Carey and Lameiras into the same side. From the tonking we got in the first half it's clear one of them has to play out wide for that to work. Carey isn't a luxury player: he works hard and tackles back, but he isn't a natural defender.

Write it off to experience but what is worrying is the injury to first pick right back Trelkeld. We're only one league game in and already have 3 out injured.

PS let's not pick on the attackers, especially Blissett, I doubt he had the service to shine. The problem was the back 7 being overrun in the first half. Second half we were jam packed with defenders and limited them to 1 goal but can't have had much going forward.

    Hi guys

I watched the 'highlights' and of course I'm happy with a 5-0 win - who wouldn't be?

However I have to say that your keeper looked like he had a stinker. He should have stopped at least 2 of our goals.
Yes, we dominated and would have won anyway, but 5-0 was flattering - largely due to what seemed to be your keepers gaffes.
Good luck in the league guys - and make sure you beat the Gas !!!!

Cheers....his first game for us....not too impressed myself......Derek Adams our very good manager, admitted he got it wrong....should never have played 9 second choices against a Championship team whatever team City put out.

We have been beaten 9 out of the last 10 times in the first round of the League Cup.....I think we need a stake and hammer next year and find the heart of our opponents to stand any chance of getting to round 2.
