No Carey so maybe Lameiras will get a run out in the No 10 role... The BBC weather forecast for the South West says: A band of rain will move eastwards this evening accompanied by strong to gale force winds, especially across coasts and hills, perhaps severe gale through the Bristol Channel. Clear spells and blustery showers will follow before midnight. Locally, the forecast has heavy rain from 6 pm to 8 pm with winds of 40 mph for a spell between 7 and 9 pm. PS saw Jake Jervis picking up a bag of breakfast donuts at the Peverell Park Road 24/7 this morning. Blimey, he's tall. I lied about the donuts. PS It started to rain and blow here at about 4:30 so I don't think the sprinklers will be required. Also, the lifeboat is heading out at 25 knots so it all looks good!
Plenty of heavy rain here in the north of the city, strong winds coming along.. Trump has sent them..
Something going on here, is it just bad luck or is there no defensive understanding in this team, we've gone from being a good defensive team which was why we got promoted last season. How can we give so many goals away at the start of a match and end up chasing the game. Three red cards in seven games that's got to stop or we'll run out of players. Why hasn't Lameiras started with Carey out ...and why couldn't Ainsworth get a game, question marks against Adams tactics, going to be a build up of pressure on Adams after this....we're in a relegation tussle after only seven games. Mystified how last years very average Shrewsbury are flying at the top of this league.
Gonna be short and to the point with my summary. Conditions were not great but both teams have it the same so no excuse there. PGFWhite has a decent point without even seeing them. Difference between Argyle and Blackpool was movement off the ball and being available to receive it. They did that and we did not. This game was like a carbon copy of the two other defeats and it must be true to say that opposition managers have sussed Adams and the likely tactics and formations he will use. They have all slowed the game down to a crawl and wasted as much time as possible from the off. They have managed to stop the game as often as they like and Referees have let them. Argyle players then get frustrated along with the crowd and it goes down hill from there. The Referee once again was a joke and the Red card should not have happened. Just before the nudge given by Edwards one of theirs went straight through the back of one of ours. Carey got a red for that on Saturday. This time it wasn't even a free kick apparently. We seemed to get yellows for almost nothing and yet they got one which was their keeper for picking the ball up as a backpass. None of their out players were even spoken to apart from to hurry up occasionally. Not that the Ref did anything to help that happen. We had so many chances and contrived to miss all but one of them. Some of them were harder to miss than score. No problem with effort but a lot of problems with end product yet again. I've said it before. Our players sadly need to learn to fall down and roll about a bit more. They don't play like that but oppositions do and we are paying the price. I despise play acting in football but what are you meant to do when you are getting mullered by it. Still having real problems with getting into site and my ancient machine but hopefully the new one won't be long in arriving.
evening all, another immensely frustrating evening. Nothing we could have done about the deflected goal expect perhaps close down the ball a bit better. It then took a good 25 mins before we got going, but when we did we played some decent stuff and the equaliser was fully justified. The ref was inconsistent;we seemed to receive a yellow for every foul whereas the northern oiks got away with cheating again. Two yellows equal a red, nothing really to say about that. Neither were particularly 'bad' fouls but yellows were easy to give for them. Thought songo'o did really well. No-one played particularly badly. Luck will change. Absolutely awful weatherwise and Blackpool exploited the conditions better . We were very shot shy but Bpool weren't afraid to have a go and scored from 2 good strikes. We are good enough and we can do well in this league- I just hope the confidence isn't too battered. Off to Bury on Saturday for the finest black pudding in the world!
Things have got to be sorted as all the enthusiasm has gone. Must strengthen squad as proves with several players out we cannot compete in this league.
