So Theresa may confirms that the UK economy has benefited from immigration, but intends to choke it off because the "people" voted it for it. Is that statesmanship or rank stupidity? Cost to the UK economy of the leaked proposals is estimated to be £6 billion pa by 2020.

I do worry about Theresa May.....all those years in the cabinet and no sign of being street wise in anything....she is too weak to see us through Brexit and Mr Brexit man David Davis makes grey look extremely bright.....oh dear were is Nigel Farage when you need him.....EU negotiators would cringe at the thought of him telling them what plonkers they all are with their ludicrous demands.

But they have the key what we want i.e. a prosperous economy rather than a financial disaster. It's all very well the prime Brexiteers posing but it won't be them that suffer when it goes horribly wrong - it'll be us.

Mobile phone sales are plummeting already. The rate of technological improvement has slowed to a point where people don't want to pay for the kudos of having the newest phone as they used to. I read recently that the iPhone 6 is still a best seller.

It's also hard to get a contract without unlimited minutes and much more data than you'd ever need. Do I really want to watch TV or video on a 5.5 inch screen when I could get a 50 inch smart TV for the same price as a new phone? No I don't.

I'm due an upgrade and have been for quite a while. I think that like for like, a Top 10 phone and even an entry level contract is 50% more expensive that 2 or 3 years ago. Gooses and golden eggs come to mind....

On a separate subject, I'm sickened this morning to see senior fire brigade officers parading on TV this morning telling us how shocked they are by the "revelation" that only 2% of council owned tower blocks have full sprinkler systems. Were they not aware of this before? Should they have been?

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is still very popular, although technology has moved on since it first came out....my daughter bought one this summer for roughly £250...on the advice of her 14 year old son who knows about these things of course. that might tempt me, but not just yet.

As far as I'm aware a block of flatws is much the same as say a football stadium which has to have a current fire safety certificate being it is in multi occupation. Now, let me think who might issue a "Fire" safety certificate....................er............hmmmmm....... Oh I know perhaps it might be the fire brigade themselves. The words bull and **** spring to mind.

That was an attempt at "it wasn't our fault" as far as I can see. However, nobody was blaming them and to be honest nobody should be blaming the council or government or anyone else apart from the makers of a machine that caught fire all too easily. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and if everyone had it then no accident would ever happen anywhere.

No no blame but should think twice about pushing themselves forward on TV.

I think that someone should be asking the fire-safety officer who last inspected Grenfell to explain exactly how it had met the safety standards.

Sickening to read that the ex-director of the company who manage the building is still claiming his full salary (6 figures apparently).

I just wonder what the South West Peninsula League think about Argyle putting out a near Div One strength team against little Stoke Gabriel.
Winning 12-0 with goals from Fletcher 5, Lameiras 3, Battle 2, Sokolik 1, Ainsworth 1.

The time is surely coming when Fletcher will be given a run in the first team...he's a natural goal scorer, getting him playing before Div One teams take notice of what's happening....further down the pecking order at the moment is Battle, he also knows where the net is.

Letheren, Aaron Taylor, Rose, Sokolik, Law, Battle, Carey, Ainsworth, Lameiras, Wylde, Fletcher.

    PS.....Fletcher only played an hour.

I listened to a lot of the Grenfell stuff on the radio today. The man doing the investigation said a load of very obvious things about what he will be looking at and the locals who just moaned about anything and everything he said. One legal chap wasn't happy because they won't have a resident on the team. Now if he had to defend a case with one of the accusers family on the jury I'd guess he wouldn't be happy about that and for the life of me I cannot see what advantage there would be having a resident on the panel anyway. The Inquiry is about how it happened, who might be to blame and how the authorities and services reacted when it did. It has nothing to do with the mind set of anyone living there. Another objector talked about the "we". This one lived in the area rather than in the block itself.

It was a tragic event but it was an accident like lots of other ones. Planes crash killing more than 80. Ships or ferries go down. Coaches crash and trains fall off the rails. Nobody resigns who is in charge of any of those companies so I can't see why the boss of the company that manages this block should either. They didn't build it and if the outcome could have been foreseen then it wouldn't have been built anyway. Be honest, **** happens in life and as sad as it may be there is little we or anyone else can do about it. If everyone took every single possible step on safety for every eventuality there could possibly be in life then nobody would have anywhere to live, we would have nothing to eat, no jobs, no cars or transport of any kind and obviously what follows is no life either.

Officially Argyle are the most wasteful team in Div 1...scoring one goal for every 17 attempts.

Neymar, has demanded PSG sell fellow forward Edinson Cavani after their on-pitch dispute on Saturday.

Now that is definitely a case of a player being to big for his boots.....who does he think he is god.

Would he treat Mbappe the same way, I doubt he'd get the chance.

It's no shock is it. When these teams start paying that kind of fee then the mad take over the asylum and it's bound to happen. I read today that Diego Costa got the move "he wanted". Clubs have brought this on themselves.
