One bit of positive good news tonight was that Torquay won 4 - 0. They have more points than us now. Hope this is a turning point for them as well.

You just get one candle for every ten years at my age.....and only allowed a small bit of cake to keep your waist line down.

It's tough being old....but you'll all get there in the end....unless you unlucky of course...<yikes>.

The Cemetery is full of people who would like to be Plym. Tell you what though, it's amazing how fast the old bit creeps up on you.

Well Theresa May doesn't get too much luck does she.....you wouldn't ask her to help you with your lottery numbers would you !

1.....She has had a bad cold all week, you thought she might of cut her engagements down during the week to safeguard her voice for her big leaders speech to the conference.....but no that didn't happen....who the hell advises her in these matters ?
She coughed and spluttered through her hour long speech, and her situation became more rememberable than what her message was, how ever good it was.

2.....Then she fell foul to a professional prankster Simon Brodkin....who was able to sidle up to the platform with an A4 piece of paper in his hand, outstretched to the Prime Minister....who eventually took it from him....it was a pretend A45 form for her......he then went over to the front row of the conference floor and spoke to Boris Johnson.....saying " I've done what you asked me to Boris"....by then security had been alerted, and he was led away....and was seen outside with police in handcuffs being taken to the local nick.......Simon Brodkin has a track record of this sort of thing. He walked up to Sepp Blatter with a wedge of bank notes in his hand....He confronted Donald Trump once..... and more light heartedly managed to get on the pitch kitted out as a Man City player and joined in their warm up, before being led away.
But what is horrendous about the Theresa May incident is that he was able to get into the conference and approach the Prime Minister and her cabinet without any security stopping him....ok it was only a pretend A45 piece of paper this time ....not a knife or acid or a bomb....he could of caused chaos on national television....why did it take so long for anyone to act...her cabinet just sat their bemused and were was her personal security at this moment....standing down having a cuppa somewhere....I'm sure we'll know all the details soon.......her speech is literally forgotten already....it's written down somewhere if your interested.

3.....When you lucks out, your lucks out.....the Conference slogan on the wall behind her started to fall down....it said "BUILDING A COUNTRY THAT WORKS FOR EVERYONE"....before our very eyes the 'F' fell off..... and on the Telegraphs front page today it ended up saying
"BUI-DING A C--NTRY THA- -ORKS -OR ---RYONE " this could only happen to Theresa May.

And finally...on the front page of the Daily Telegraph a Matt cartoon......a picture of the conference hall delegates listening to Theresa May.....and one delegate looks up and points at a " plague of Locusts !".....buzzing around.

And finally finally should Theresa May change her Christian name to "Jonah"......there might not be a whale around but there definitely are a few sharks.

More important than any of that I sat through the England match tonight. What an absolute pile of rubish that was as well. I was in full flow having a mank about the thing when the missus pointed out that they won and had qualified. I had to point out that I was going to have to sit through Argyle on Saturday as well to which she conceded I might be in line for a medal.

They will say that this was all about qualification and only that. We all know we have feck all chance of getting out of the group stages let alone winning the thing playing like that. It was so negative and poor that I'm surprised the crowd even bothered to stick with it. I heard a bit of booing and whistling as well.

The crowd started to amuse themselves in the second half by making paper aircraft, and throwing them on to the pitch.

England's group must of been one of the easiest to have played in.

One of the worst England performances ever I should think, and that's saying something. Ineffective going forwards but worse, considering the opposition, not too secure at the back.

Looked a bit better when Sterling got moved out of the No 10 role to be replaced by Lingard and Dele Alli would probably have been better still. Rashford was far and away our best player so let's hope he goes on improving. After that.... nothing.

Yet the telly made Hart mom last night....for his double save at the end I expect.....others gave it to Kane, who literally did nothing at all until the 94th minute.

Rashford was definitely the best player....he was the only one who tried to make things happen.....too much pressure on a 19 year old.

Some terrible moments of giving the ball away in dangerous positions.....a better team would have made us pay for being so lax.

In fairness to Hart he probably was MOM given he kept the team in it so they could go on to win. He takes a lot of stick but he did come up with the goods this time. The biggest problem with watching a game like that is I might have to watch another one tomorrow. Notdistant, the description you give sounds so much like numerous Argyle games this season. Plenty of possession and huff and puff with no return only to give things away yourself at the back.

Bottom line is that we have qualified for the finals-you don't get extra points for being entertaining. Just thought that the punters and commentators were particularly negative last night-am sure Glenn H would have preferred us to have lost. Sad to say but I think anything better than the group stage would be considered a 'success'. My view since working 'inside' football has definitely changed. I suspect that now I have more knowledge, I am a lot more realistic. A bit bizarre but, as much as I love every minute of my job, I enjoy the actual football less. Funny old world.

If we won the thing being as crap as we have been then not many would mind one jot. Nobody has much faith that we will win it mind and even less probably think we will go beyond the group stages either. I'm one of those at the minute. I have always been hopeful with football but I like to think I've always been realistic as well. I didn't think we would set league one afire this term but I did think we would do better than we have started. I think that is true with a lot of people which is why they are so pee'd off currently. Combine poor football or entertainment if you'd rather use that term with even worse results and there is bound to be trouble and lots of negative outpourings.
