Looked very much to me like one of those that would never have been given as a foul if we were the home team.

No he didn't. That wouldn't have been a foul then. Meyler didn't even protest, he knew and what he had done. Try to be objective.

I think the Norwich man deliberately put his leg out. Meyler couldn't help but run into it. No foul for me but Meyler would have known how it looked.

From what I remember, the bloke was running with the ball, Meyler caught him up and tackled him from behind. That's a bookable offence, regardless of how unfair we think it is.

From watching the link supplied by our Russian friend it looked like Meyler was walking a tightrope, he was putting it about and giving away free-kicks, you keep putting it about after you've had the 'gypsies warning' (and a yellow card) from the ref you're always going to risk getting the second card; the totting up procedure did for him. A good skipper would have had a word with him and calmed him down.

It is the type of foul Paul Mckenna used to do on a weekly basis.

He was a bit stupid, given he had done a number of fouls already he should of known. The player was hardly going to be through on goal and there was very little to be gained from doing what he did.

If that was for an opposition player we would all agree it was a sending off.

It was deliberate. Meyler knew what he was doing. Stupid on a yellow.

Maybe a fussy little runt, may have been more appropriate.

Although he did very calmly flick the ball over his own head and the attackers and cleared it away on the half volley. That was pretty sweet, but I hope he isn't going to try it every week, it's one of those 1 in a million shots (the Dennis Miller ratio).

I know it wouldn't have been a foul, that's why the ref was an idiot. Meyler didn't protest because he didn't see the point to it, Larsson did however and got a yellow for his trouble. Re-watch it properly.

Precisely. No point protesting the second yellow because it looks as if he's brought the player down on the counter, but was a very poor decision by the ref.
