Comment from the Herald's commentary on this afternoon's reserve match against MK Dons, which finished 5:4 to us! [Grant 2, Lameirias 2, Ciftci]

"Diagouraga strolled through this match. It’s a reserve game and it doesn’t mean anything, but the Frenchman made it look pedestrian. More than enough technical and physical ability in reserve to make this test look easy."

Comments on pasoti from those there that Diagouraga.....commonly known as "Dave" (thank goodness) played well, and was looking for the forward pass, taken off before the end, so could he be starting Saturday ?
Comments also that Sonny Bradley could of been at fault for at least two of their goals.

I've read the MK Dons match report....they thought their young team of apprentices and under 18's did well against Argyle, who had 10 professionals and first eleven players with lots of league experience between them....they didn't actually complain.....but just the hint or two.

It was a highly entertaining game for the neutral (which of course I am not!). 5-4 probably flatters MK Dons but they did have a much less experienced side out. The pitch was far from idea but at least the sun came out. Toumes looked a class act and seemed to actually enjoy it. At 2-0 up after a few minutes and with MK Dons barely having a kick it looked like it was going to be cricket score but poor defending X 2 made it 2-2 and a better game. Mk Dons also left at 0600 this morning which wont have helped but it makes a change for the opposition to complain about the travelling. All in all a pleasant way to to spend a Tuesday afternoon-especially as it was work!

I've read poor defending times 3 and all of them by Bradley. What has happened to our player of the year? All of our supposed stars of last season have had poor starts to this one.

Rumour is that we are about to sign Simon Church, 6ft, 28 yrs old...who is on trial with us at present...been playing in Holland recently.

Played 270 games and scored 49 goals.....Clubs include Reading, Charlton.MK Dons.

PS....good write up on ATD about him....played for Wales in Euro Semi-Final.
Recovered from a hip injury aggrevated by having to play on Astroturf in the Dutch League.

Saw us come out of the hat and thought of last season with us wanting a win at Grimsby to be champs. Anyway this one is at home not their place. Not sure how good a home draw is mind you. Exeter is anotherr home draw as well. Pity Torquay got knocked out or else we might have had a triple home weekend.

Truro must be pleased with their draw.

Also been reading about our possible signing. Mr Church looks to be a reasonable choice on the face of it. Get him signed up and on the pitch soonest for me.

I see that Newport have signed free agent Paul Hayes...ex Wycombe Wanderers striker.....I'm sure he could have done a job for us even at 34 years old.

Still trying to get a Wimbledon ticket (no not the tennis)....I'm on a waiting list.....and they don't allocate their spare seats until Friday....they are still selling standing tickets....but these areas are pretty crappy and hardly any depth or height to see what is going on.....no seats have been on sale even for Wimbledon supporters as yet....I assume most of them are season ticket holders....never had problems before getting a ticket online from them.

    2.....te Loeke...back injury.
    3.....Letheren...thigh injury.

    5.....Ness...thigh injury.
    6.....Sarcevic...hamstring.
    7.....Lameiras...groin.
    8.....Ciftci...back/ankle.
9.....Taylor...broken ankle.....expecting to start training in November.

Argyle have signed Klaidi Lolos a 16 year old Athens born striker on a 2 year apprenticeship.
Lolos moved to the UK with his parents at 11 years of age, did a 2 year Academy contract at Crystal Palace. He was scouted by Argyle and came down here for a trial....played for us against Swindon in the EFL Youth League and scored a goal in the match.

PS.....Just come across a picture of Lolos signing his contract on the PAFC website.....what a fine looking man overseeing the occasion.

Simon Church has signed for Scunthorpe .....that's disappointing....did they offer him better terms or was he swayed by their better league position...or is it nearer home ?

Hope Adams is still searching for someone who knows where the net is.....maybe Church couldn't see how he would get enough good service to try and score at Argyle....I hope that wasn't the case.

Sensible the balls are more slippery now and they hit them harder so they hurt their soft hands.... not like the lumps of leather you kicked about?? with a lace up the middle to hearer.. bring that ball back and see how they bend that one around a wall.. Ronanldo would not be able to kick it...

I've never found slippery balls a problem Joe. Hard balls were another question altogether......................

So we sign a 16 year old striker for a few years time yet don't sign one that we could do with right now. Sounds about right.
