AN Arbitral Panel has dismissed QPR’s claim that the English Football League’s 2012 Financial Fair Play Rules were unlawful under Competition Law, and also found that the fine levied by the EFL on the Club was not disproportionate. The decision of the three-man panel was released to the parties on October 19th. QPR Chief Executive Officer Lee Hoos has confirmed the club will appeal the decision. He said: “We are understandably disappointed with the decision. “We are currently examining our next steps, but we will be appealing. “However, until the matter is resolved in full, we are not in a position to provide any further comment.” QPR and the EFL will not be making any further comment on this matter at the present time. https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/qpr-financial-fair-play-dispute/
This is really bad news. I was hoping for a favourable outcome but there is clearly politics at play here. I wonder where it gets appealed to?
Not a great surprise Let's hope that the club has factored this into their projections One thought - does the fine count as a current year loss? Could get fined again!! I dread to think what our legal costs have been on this
Looks to me as if we're well and truly screwed...........another 2 years of austerity minimum. Hope some of the youngsters coming through the ranks are good enough to attract potential suitors and we can install sell on clauses....... Those who think we should be spending money we haven't got on a centre forward who can guarantee 20 goals a season, this is the reality, you'd better start getting used to it....... Up The R's
Who the hell do we appeal to? I’m probably wrong but I had the impression that the arbitration process was entered into on the understanding that both sides accept the outcome.
