Very decent performance from England: same old story had less possession especially, in the 2nd half, but made as many chances.

Given the no-shows from supposedly better players, Loftus-Cheek and Maquire should keep their places.

Did you re-run the last game by mistake sensible ?

That was a good competitive open game last night....not a full strength German team....but on paper stronger than the team we put out.....some of the younger players played really well, and kept their shape although Germany kept probing for an opening.....we had less of the ball but had just as many chances and could have won it with the last kick of the game.

Keeping the ball and passing back and forth across the defence is not what I call a good game. Sorry but my preference is for it to go forward and not end up with your own keeper when you had the corner. It was not exciting to watch. Yes there were some decent performances individually but it doesn't necessarily make for a spectacle. Each to their own I guess. Hands up those who think we stand any chance of winning the next World Cup or maybe even qualifying for the knock out stages. Don't think so.

Angus Gunn the Norwich goalkeeper who is on loan from Man City has been called up to the England squad to face Brazil this week.

I hope that that will not put pressure on Demi Matthews emergency loan to Argyle....although he is Norwich's third choice they might feel uncomfortable with him being away from the club at the moment.

Personally I think he is a better goalkeeper than, McCormick, te Loeke and Letheren and was a great bit of loan work getting him down to Home Park.

Pictures of Kyle Letheren on GoS this Saturday, after his operation, arriving at the match and cadging a lift back to Plymouth.

In the absence of the PL, I've watched the 1st half of AFC Wimbledon v Peterborough.

Wimbledon scored a good goal from their first attack but Peterborough rallied after a poor start to equalise with what looked like an OG from a Maddison free kick. Maddison then won and scored a penalty for Peterborough which I'll come back to. Close to half time, Wimbledon won a freekick close to the touchline deep in their own half and a hoof up-field left the Peterborough CB's playing "After You Claude" to allow McDonald to sneak between them and score a pathetically easy equaliser.

In summary, four goals but a huge amount of quality: Peterborough look poor in defence but Gwion Edwards looks very dangerous for them on the left.

Maddison however, who you'll remember accused Sonny Bradley of spitting, went down after minimal contact early on and screeched as if his shin had been attacked with a sledge hammer. The penalty was by him won with minimal contact also. The little toe-rag is a cheat as well as a liar.

Correction NOT a huge amount of quality. We can beat either of these

And he went head to head with an MK Don player and after the faintest of touches he collapsed backwards as if that sledge hammer had been trained on his forehead. The commentators commented that the act was pathetic and totally crap. That should be looked at by the FA and the man needs banning for 3 matches. He is worse than pathetic and shouldn't be allowed to get away with this stuff.

Ryan Taylor went over on his recovering ankle whilst warming up for the Central League match on Wednesday against Bournemouth.

This would have been his second game since his ankle injury that he would have got some playing time. He was withdrawn from the squad for precaution.

Taylor was being checked over this morning at Home Park to see if he had caused any damage to his ankle.....Derek Adams was hoping that no damage has happened to his ankle and that he can continue gaining fitness.....probably means he will not be risked Saturday for the Oxford game.

I see the Herald online has said that "Argyle favourite Rory Fallon has retired"....I don't ever remember Fallon being an Argyle favourite....did I miss his one good game.

I expect at his age plus NZ being knocked out of the World Cup in a play-off was a good enough time.....will he be scene driving down the Hoe chiming, "stop me and buy one"....maybe not in the winter.

Unfortunately Remi Matthews has returned to Norwich to have his shin injury assessed.

We haven't as yet been told where that leaves us for Tuesday's Yeovil trip.

Michael Cooper was on the bench Saturday.....so does this mean even with his injured finger he will play with Childs being on the subs bench.

Argyle are seeking clarification from the EFL whether they can resign Remi Matthews when he is fit.

Results of a scan back at Norwich suggests he will be out for 2 to 3 weeks....a second opinion was being sought to confirm that.

I feel sorry for Everton if they cannot do any better than making slimy Sam Allardyce their next manager....never been out of the top league if my memory serves me right.....desperate times.

The Manager merry-go-round is a funny old thing isn't it. Fail somewhere and another job just pops up some way down the road. West Brom is a prime example. Happen to think Sam is a decent manager myself even though he has a bit of the night about him.

I'm not a betting man but I'd hazard a guess that Allardyce won't be in charge for the first game of next season. If Everton are relegated, he'll be sacked for that reason. If they stay up, he'll be replaced by some Spaniard who's perceived as being more stylish, probably in several ways.

Allardyce's rate of pay must be astronomical. Sign a 1 year contract, work for 6 months and collect the full amount. Still, good luck to him, not his fault football's that way.

James Brent says that Argyle reaching the Premiership will probably not happen under his tenure.

I honestly would be gobsmacked if we ever did......staying in Div 1 might be difficult enough at the moment for him.
