Would have been a bloody long term investment during which time he would have bled us dry for wages. Young Ashley seems to have been having a nightmare over the last year. If he had stayed with the Swans, would they and he still be in positions they are now? He didn't exactly shine for Wales either. End of the road methinks unless he drops a league or two.
We would have paid £17,360,000 on him in wages and transfer fees if we'd have kept him for this long, no thanks.
Only adds fuel to the fire that MM was a **** manager and a chancer. Got us to the premier league was his only achievement, but when the pressure was on he buckled. He tried to use the fan base against VT, which in all fairness wasn't too difficult at the time. Was ill-equipped and found wanting or very devious in all his transfers into the club. At time I thought he was working for Abramhović! Stupidly thought publicly criticising his employer would give him cult status and be the big hero who stood against the man. Sorry, but as you can guess I don't like the man, based on his dealings with Cardiff City FC, no man is bigger than the club. Rant over.
Got us to premier league his ONLY achievment....exactly how many of our managers have done that???Really proves how **** he was doesn't it???
Think this window will come down to who goes as much as who stays. Anyone who comes in will need to be capable of at least being a squad player in the premier league, just in case. No good padding out a championship squad, we've got enough of them. Looking at the recent short term deal done for a left sided defender, an additional left back may be a bit of business to be done.
Management isn’t just about getting promoted although it helps. It’s all round ability in many areas. His transfer dealings were Ridsdale-esque and the football at times was dire. We were promoted champions with the second lowest points tally.
Never gonna agree on this one taff....so I'll leave it there...you're wrong though....whoops sorry mate.
Agreed. New to start trimming the higher earners on the bench or outside the squad and start looking to a few youngsters. We're certainly well stocked across the back four. Nothing against Connelly as he' served us well but it's probably beneficial for him to move on as well.
Do we need anyone? Not in the squad today - Camp , Jazz , Kadeem , Ken , Bogle , Gunner , Connolly , Pilkington , Healey , NML , Plus youngsters like Harris and Coxe.
Not in numbers but if quality can be added, with the right attitude, then that must be considered. I wouldn't be surprised if Connolly and Pilks move on. Feeney likely to return to parent club if Kadeem is fit. Feltsher on a short term contract - ability not yet proven although cover at left back would be useful.
OMG, did anyone read that dreadful article today on wales online about our possible January transfer targets? Jonny Hayes (yawn), Greg Cunningham, (yawn again) some welsh kid from Liverpool plus players from Southend & Bristol Rovers and Dundee! The journalist must have been told to write some column inches but this was just lazy and inept.
Totally agree nin. If we're near where we are now come the middle Jan, any player we sign must be capable of doing a job in the premier league else we could be moving them on in the summer. It's why a loanee or two might be the answer. At least they identified the need for a left back. Not sure what else we'd need.
First rumour for a while. Another striker...... http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...rdiff-city-interested-signing-german-14009964
