drove right by Hillsborough yesterday. Don't like the place at all.
A win is needed. I just can't see how. I'd make some changes, Leo won't. This would be my team...apart from mcgregor in goal obviously.

    • 16Jakupovic
    • 2Odubajo
    • 21Dawson
    • 6Davies
    • 26Robertson
    • 14Livermore
    • 8Huddlestone
    • 27Elmohamady
    • 17Diamé
    • Hernandez
This would be my team. More strength in midfield to protect the back four.

    Mcgregor

    Tomori Dawson Mazuch Aina

    Irvine Meyler Stewart Larsson

    Bowen Campbell

Leo will play hector and Henriksen unfortunately.

I'm hoping for a nervy 1-0 to us.

Hull City 1 Sheffield Wednesday 0
    KC Stadium | Championship | Sunday 30th December 2007

Dean Windass' stunning first-half free-kick secured all three points for the Tigers at the KCOM Stadium.

In a game featuring few moments of quality, the veteran striker, who came off the bench to replace the injured Fraizer Campbell, curled his effort into the top corner from 30 yards to score the only goal of the game.

Akpo Sodje nearly levelled for the Owls after the break when he was denied the post before David Livermore almost added a second Tigers goal late on, only to shoot straight at Lee Grant.

Hull City 2 Sheffield Wednesday 1
KC Stadium | Championship | Friday 15th September

Jon Parkin's double-strike helped the Tigers come from behind to beat Sheffield Wednesday and climb off the bottom of the Championship table.

The Owls took the lead when Danny Mills was wrongly adjudged to have handled in the area and the real culprit - Deon Burton - converted the resultant penalty to give the visitors an early lead.

But the Tigers and Parkin responded quickly – with the striker heading home Craig Fagan's cross to level the scores on 11 minutes, before making 2-1 to Phil Parkinson’s side just six minutes later when finding the back of the net with a superbly taken volley.

Wednesday enjoyed the majority of the possession after the break but couldn't find a way past Boaz Myhill as the Tigers held on to claim a second successive league win following a 1-0 victory away at Leicester three days earlier.

Hull City 4 Sheffield Wednesday 4
Boothferry Park | Division Two | Saturday 26th December 1970

Three goals in the last seven minutes earned the Tigers a point against Sheffield Wednesday in this Boxing Day encounter.

Trailing 4-1 - Ken Houghton being City's scorer - and with the home supporters heading for the exits in droves, the magic of Christmas had well and truly evaporated.

Then, this particular Christmas story took a dramatic turn. Two Chris Chilton goals gave Terry Neill’s side a lifeline before Ken Wagstaff slotted home the equaliser - his 250th career goal – with three minutes remaining to complete one of the most amazing comebacks in the Club’s history.

The Tigers have Michael Dawson and Jon Toral available again as they prepare for Saturday’s short trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

Dawson was absent through illness for last weekend’s defeat against Bristol City, while Toral has missed more than a month of action with a hamstring problem.

Adama Diomande will miss out with a groin injury which is likely to keep him on the sidelines for around a fortnight, while Leonid Slutsky is also without the services of Will Keane, Stephen Kingsley, Abel Hernandez, Ryan Mason and Moses Odubajo.

Sheffield Wednesday will be without defender Tom Lees as well as striker Fernando Forestieri, midfielder Sam Hutchinson and former Tiger George Boyd.

Leonid Slutsky says the Tigers can turn their current poor form around and believes that they are very close to doing so.

Slutsky’s side head to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday having not won in their last six games and will look to bounce back from the disappointment of last weekend when a 2-0 lead was surrendered in a 3-2 defeat against Bristol City.

However, the Head Coach retains the belief that he can change things and says if he didn’t believe he wouldn’t be here.

“I spoke with my assistant coach, with my family and with my friends to understand my feelings,” said Slutsky.

“I really think that we have a chance to change our situation and if I didn’t feel this I would stop.

“I feel that we are really very close to changing our situation and we maybe need one or two more chances.

“If we are talking about responsibility, diligence, desire – we don’t have a problem. Sometimes concentration has been lost in games, sometimes a mistake has been bad for us but this is football and we are not robots.

“I feel that everybody in the team supports me and if that wasn’t the case I would have finished here maybe one month ago, although I understand that support isn’t enough and results are needed.

“Last weekend was a very difficult one for us and very frustrating. It was a game that we controlled for 65 minutes but lost after two set-pieces. Then on Monday I went to watch Queens Park Rangers against Brentford when Brentford conceded two goals from set-pieces on 93 and 94 minutes and you realise that in the Championship, anything really is possible. This is not the first difficult situation in my career.

“We continue to work together here and we have brought the players together to speak about this.

“When you haven’t won for six matches in a row, you need a win. After the game against Sheffield United last month, I think we have played good quality matches against Ipswich, Millwall and Bristol City but results have been a problem. Then the question becomes about the team losing confidence and the next match after a defeat always becomes more difficult.

“We can change the situation and if I wasn’t sure that we could do it, I wouldn’t be sitting here now.”

I wonder if Chazz knows that Chazz Jnr has his phone?

    Anyhoo.

    Sluts knows. The players know.

They're all better than they've been displaying.

    I hope Slut goes

    Tomori Dawson Mazuch Aina

    Irvine Meyler Stewart Larsson

    Bowen Campbell

same team with any of Toral, Evandro or Henriksen instead of Meyler - as you well know when Meyler has been on the pitch recently we have leaked goals at an alarming rate so lets keep him on the bench until he starts getting some sort of form back - he has one of the worst pass success rates in the championship, if we're to protect the back four we need someone on the pitch who passes to a team mate rather than someone who is constantly losing the ball

You know you've hit rock bottom when Haps can see a scenario that's less than regulation four - zip.

I fear the end of the line. The terminus. The final taxi.

Any light at the end of the Tunnel today will undoubtedly be the light of an oncoming train.

I suspect Sluts woke up with the following earworm lodged deep in his conscious brain:

This is the end, beautiful friend
This is the end, my only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes, again.

    The End.

It'll be over as a contest by half-time.

Despite the Wendy's still thinking they are the biggest club in the world,of the many grounds visited in the past one ground that stood out and always impressed me was Hillsborough. It's Old fashioned as f'uck yes,but it screams football and usually had a proper atmosphere with one of the biggest open end Kops around for years before they stuck a roof on it and filled it with seats. I hated the c'nts back then, especially when they visited City on mass at Fer Ark,but in a weird way I always have a kind of bitter respect for 'em.

    Jumpers for goal posts moment...

    Would be nice.

Actually but when you consider the endless false dawns, countless lies, padlocks, bent directors and the latest set of clowns in charge, I often wonder how some of the so called massive clubs sets of fans would have coped with it all?

I just have so little faith in Henrikson.

The final nail for me was your comments yesterday about German chips and mayo.

Despite having lost over 2 1/2 stone now, and dropping 2, almost 3, dress sizes, I would happily tuck into frites mit mayo und curry sauce bitte.

People I have held in high regard for a long time seem to be hellbent on letting me down and being disappointing.

    Shame on you.

Don't worry, (be Happy), I'll be troughing with the best of them next week. There are reasons why most Germans are twenty stone plus.

I do find their mayo glutinous, claggy and artificially enhanced though- a bit like their women tbf.
